I thought then it may be worth a try and with this additional info on the quince, it makes it even more so. Interestingly, I've seen the quercetin sold in health food stores as an oral supplement, often in combination with bromelain. The combination is reputed to help with bruising, swelling & inflammation associated with injuries from surgery & non-surgical events.
