As I write this, I realize I have not come up with a new year’s resolution. Shame on me. Naturally, I stick with the easy ones that I should be doing already (such as eliminating vices). Not that it’s a cop out but I actually like to think of it as exceeding my own expectations of my own take. For instance, I am always striving for a more “all natural” lifestyle and this year I should take it up one level. This means I should probably cook my own meals instead of ordering Thai down the street. Even being conscious of offsetting my carbon footprints when I travel is important.

One thing I gladly don’t have to make great changes with is my skincare approach. While I am a big fan of organic products, I could weed out some products that aren’t 100% (which would be rather difficult as I think several skincare brands have made great strides in recent years to incorporate natural ingredients and I fully support that). A product that I don’t have to change for is Dermalogica’s Environmental Control Deodorant.

Obvious reasons aside, choosing the right deodorant is important because they oftentimes work against you. Some contain fragrances that are way too strong and many still contain aluminum. I’ve always been 100% content with Dermalogica. The deodorant is non-irritating, it doesn’t feel cold, it’s clear (glide-on) and doesn’t leave stains. I love how it contains plant-derived ingredients like clove, hyssop, parsley seed and coriander (helps control body odor), which is extremely rare when it comes to deodorants (well, the ones I’ve tried at least). Best of all, it’s both male and female friendly. The scent is also very appealing and refreshing.
I have used Dermalogica’s deodorant for several years without any irritation and—I know it’s too late for this—included it several times as stocking stuffers for the holidays. Sure, my friends think I’m trying to tell them something (I’m not), but come new year’s day they regret getting me a fancy block of chocolate (I don’t) and adopt my deodorant gift-giving idea. Who woulda thunk something so good for you made a great gift?
