Male Order: Espa Moisturizing Body Lotion
Needless to say, I was quite excited to check out the spa. The treatment rooms were like royal suites, and the swimming pool was gorgeous. I swear they put something in the water to make it feel silky smooth. I was looking forward to my treatment, which included a detoxifying back scrub, massage and facial. Of course, it was incredibly indulgent but incredibly worth it after a 14-hour flight. Not to mention the brand uses Espa as their product line. Espa is used in select high-end spas around the world, and this was my first visit at one of their facilities.
The treatment (and products used) were definitely a treat but what made my week even more Espa-abused was that they offered the Moisturizing Body Lotion in the change/shower rooms. Score! The tube beckoned every day I went down to the gym and obviously I forfeited the amazing rainshower in my hotel room to shower in the spa on a daily basis (yes, this is true, I am weird but there was complimentary Espa moisturizer in the locker rooms!). It mostly comprises seaweed (nourishing and helps with cell regeneration—without that seaweed smell), geranium oil (my favorite scent! and great for hydrating, lavender oil and Vitamin E-rich olive oil. The aloe vera and shea also intensify the hydration.
It strangely reminds me of this discontinued Clarins body lotion I fell in love with years ago (is this a sign?) so I was a happy to reunite with something similar. It definitely hydrated my skin (something I do watch for after long-haul flights) and absorbed quite well. Some might think it’s a little on the pricey side ($30) so you can understand why I showered in the locker room every day (considering I cleared my bank account with the shopping in Tokyo). www.espaonline.com
