Fun Facts:
Founded in 1990 in Ohio, Bath & Body Works is an American store specializing in lotions, fragrances, and personal care products.
It is a subsidiary of the Limited Brands apparel company, which launched Limited Too, Structure, and Victoria’s Secret Beauty around the same time as Bath & Body Works.
In 1998, several Bath & Body Works stores were converted to The White Barn Candle Company as a home fragrance brand.
To outrival its biggest competitor, The Body Shop, Bath & Body Works launched a seasonal catalog and website in 2006.
In addition to its home brand of bath, body, and fragrance products, Bath & Body Works also sells AHAVA, American Grown, C.O. Bigelow, Caudalie, CleanWell, Davie’s Gate, Ed Hardy, Fekkai, Ile de Tahiti, Jaqua, Molton Brown, Murad, Patricia Wexler M.D., 100% Pure, Slatkin & Co., True Blue Spa, and True Religion, among others.
The company currently operates about 1,645 stores throughout North America.

TIA’s Take:
Bath & Body Works has been successful at building an empire of mass-marketed boutiques and creating a sense of affordable luxury. But in spite of its perceived high quality, many drugstore face and body lotions are superior to Bath & Body Works in terms of active ingredients, botanical extracts, and built-in sunscreens. A number of Bath & Body Works products (including the kid-friendly 3-in-1 bubble bath, body wash, and shampoo) come emblazoned with the warning: “CAUTION: Use only as directed. Excessive use or prolonged exposure may cause irritation to skin and urinary tract.” Thanks to kid-unfriendly chemicals like sodium laureth sulfate, propylene glycol, and PEGs, these products can be linked to serious health risks. Though we haven’t reviewed any Bath & Body Works products specifically, here are some reviews of B&B Works affiliate products:
AHAVA Anti-Dandruff Shampoo for no more shoulder snow

C.O. Bigelow Lotio Mentholus Soothing Topical Analgesic Lotion
