Due to popular demand, we have expanded the range of Nutra-Lift products in the Truth In Aging store.

You can now find the newly reformulated Herbal Nonsoap cleanser ($24.09 for 8oz), which is now an aloe-based gel. This has rapidly become my favorite cleanser as it not only cleanses gently and effectively, but also delivers some great antioxidants to my skin right at the get go of my daily regimen. If you look at the comments on my review of Nutra-Lift NonSoap, you’ll see that the TIA community likes it too.

It’s the thought that counts, or so they say. Hallmark wants you to believe that a card will keep your Valentine happy. Godiva and Russell Stover probably couldn’t make it through the year without February 14th. But cards, candy, and flowers are so played out. This Valentine’s Day, think outside the heart-shaped box and surprise your loved one with something he or she can really use. We’ll make that easier for you with our picks for the Five Best gifts to spoil your sweetheart and show your creative side.

Ranging in price from $8 to $48, these gifts don’t require a huge commitment, but still send the message that your heart is committed. There are items that you can use together, such as massage oil or fizzy bath tablets. There are tools and treatments for staying soft and well-moisturized. And there is a brand-new hair care gadget by our favorite celebrity hairstylist. Each gift is equally useful for a male or female recipient. If you want to prove that you are truly an expert on pampering, also check our gift guide for the Five Best beauty products worth the splurge.

Another reason why chocolate is awesome: it not only makes you feel better, but it can also make you look better.

Dark chocolate is a potent antioxidant that fights free radicals (slowing down the aging process). It also contains a high level of flavonoids, which keep the heart healthy. Most recently, German researchers have found dark chocolate to even decrease the damaging effects of UV rays, making it a covetable sunscreen.

While it’s argued whether topical cocoa-infused products (like Ikove’s Acai Chocolate Shampoo) carry these same benefits, the comforting smell of chocolate itself is worth the treat — just try Nutra-Lift’s White Chocolate Body Butter and prepare to hold yourself back from licking it. To revitalize and soften your skin, be sure to also try Amala’s Cocoa Bean Rejuvenating Face Polish.

Body scrubs are winter essentials and I have just found a new one that is worthy of inclusion in my patent-pending winter legs treatment program: Trillium Organics Body Polish ($15.99). After using this, I emerge from the shower with zingy (I chose the Fresh Lime) soft skin. As with the fabulous Malie scrubber, there is no need moisturize afterwards. However, I think that Trillium may do an even better job of exfoliating.

It is having a great effect on my decollete, which as you’ll know from the latest Marta This Month is my latest obsession and it is a boon for dry winter legs.

It is surprising that such a simple list of ingredients; basically salt, oil and a dash of citrus. Trillium has used crystalline salt, which hasn’t yet been refined to become sodium chloride and it is an antiseptic as well as exfoliator.

Bubalina is a girly brand that tries to put the fun back into spa. Pong is a priority and there are 18 different scents in the range. Most of this range’s ingredients are organic and Bubalina sticks with the program on packaging, which is based on recycled materials and vegetable inks. Apart from a whiff of phenoxyethanol, there is nothing not to like and plenty to love.

We have selected several gift sets from the Bubalina range (excluding the body wash as it doesn’t meet our ingredient standards) for the Truth In Aging store. There are two sets of the rich body butter (one of our Five Best body lotions) at $55.49 (TIA newsletter subscribers get 10%). One set has Cranberry Brown Sugar, Orange Vanilla, Spicy Pumpkin. The Spicy Pumpkin is personal favorite of mine. I love the gingerbready smell and dry skin just purrs with delight at the rich, but light texture. Pumpkin, which is here in oil, extract and enzyme form, proving that there is lot more to pumpkin than something to carve. pumpkins are full of beta-carotene, one of the plant carotenoids that is converted to vitamin A in the body. The second set has the Wild Pomegranate, Dolcetto and Tropical Lime body butters. Shop here at the TIA store.
