Ever had a million dollar idea? A few years ago, my boyfriend was convinced he had struck imaginary gold with the idea of marrying a deodorant and hair removal product. “Think about it, you already rub something under your arms every morning; well this would eliminate the need for an extra step of shaving or waxing,” he explained to me, and anyone else who would listen. I countered with the fact that you would need a pretty potent chemical to burn off underarm stubble. Would you really want that sitting on your skin all day? Nevertheless, my words of warning could not deter him. But before he had time to source a mad scientist or file a patent, Unilever announced the launch of a revolutionary hair-minimizing deodorant.

The health risks of Botox are hard to underplay but easy to overlook. Few people realize that this widely popular wrinkle smoother is one of the world’s deadliest poisons, and that a drop smaller than a grain of sand is potent enough to kill a 150-pound adult. Two years ago, there were reported deaths among American children who had been treated with Botox for muscle spasms linked to cerebral palsy. Last year, the U.S. FDA required Allergan to put a “black-box” warning on the label of Botox, explaining that the material has the potential to spread from the injection site to other parts of the body…such as the brain. Now there appears to be a new reason to fear Botox, and it’s probably the last thing you’d expect to touch the realm of beauty: terrorism.

You would hope that, at a certain age, every woman comes to embrace the body and shape that nature endowed. Nonetheless, bust size is one of those bodily realities that often leaves women discontented and insecure. Breast implants remain one of the most popular cosmetic procedures, and breast augmentation surgery has risen about 480% in the past ten years. For those unable to stomach the cost and risk associated with breast surgery, there are products like Talika Bust Serum, a well-rounded treatment promising lift, volume, and firmness. Who doesn’t want fuller, firmer, perkier breasts?

No activity epitomizes fall for me more than a brisk hike through the browning woods. A getaway to North Carolina last week provided me with the perfect opportunity to hit some spectacular hiking trails for both mental and physical exercise. Promising to enhance the latter, a new fitness companion- Banglz Bracelets- came along for the journey. As I layered on SPF and a fleece vest, I also strapped a set of colorful 1-pound weights to each wrist. With my Banglz velcroed tight, I figured that I could firm up on the fly by pumping my arms while I walked. A few hours later, I sorely regretted this decision.
