Reviva has turned out to be one of those reliable, reasonably priced brands that deliver department store and even spa experiences for the thrifty, but demanding (that would be us). Not only have we reviewed and recommended a clutch of Reviva’s products, but many of them are still in use in my bathroom. Take the Collagen Eye Pads.
This kit, which costs $37.69 at the TIA shop, comes with a 2oz bottle of Skin Energizing Gel that is applied around the eye area before positioning pre-soaked pads. The gel has ahnfeltia concinna extract, which has peptides that are thought to trigger a signal to the epidermal and dermal cells that a substantial breakdown of collagen has occurred. Just the thing before adding some replacement collagen. Enter the pads, which are applied over the gel, under the eye and up to the crow’s feet area. As an avid reader and frequent contributor to TIA, I often lust over the more expensive, results-driven products that are reviewed and recommended. However, in this economy, I just can’t seem to pull the trigger on products that cost $100, $125 and $150 plus! On the other hand, I want (and need) the benefits of high quality ingredients (like Matrixyl 3000, hyaluronic acid, Argireline, Pepha Tight (marine collagen), retinol, etc.,) as well as organic elements without petrochemicals, artificial colors, preservatives or parabens. So, imagine my delight when I happened across Skin-Perfection!!!

When I hear “serum”, I think runny…slimy…sticky. I think of an oftentimes unpleasant base layer in my beauty regime which typically neither moisturizes nor provides SPF protection. And I think of suffering short-term discomfort for long-term benefits. Perhaps I’ve been hanging with the wrong serum crowd, because I was just introduced to a new product by Wilava that fits none of these descriptions. Wilava’s Vitamin C Serum is somehow airy, agreeable, and satisfying all at the same time. Nutra-Lift has reformulated its Herbal Nonsoap cleanser ($16) as an aloe-based gel. As I never got to try the old version, I can’t offer a comparison. However, I can say that I like this cleanser a lot as it not only cleanses gently and effectively, but also delivers some great antioxidants to my skin right at the get go of my daily regimen.
Nutra-Lift recommends rubbing Herbal Nonsoap onto dry skin and leaving it for 30 seconds before rinsing. I tend to leave it on for a minimum of two minutes whilst I clean my teeth and tidy the bathroom, hoping to get the maximum benefit from the antioxidant complex that includes organic botanicals such as rose hips, olive leaf and green tea.
There are a couple of vitamin Bs, vitamin A, E and C. Red clover also contains the antioxidant tocopherol, which is a form of vitamin E. Research from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) confirms that red clover extract contains four anti-tumor compounds. Read more...
