DermaRadiant and Osmosis now at the TIA store

It has been pointed out to me that we need to give our community regular alerts when a new product is introduced to the Truth In Aging store. We shall find as many non-intrusive ways to do this as we can and will post articles like this one, use the newsletters and later we will be introducing an iPhone app. The latest reviewed and recommended beauty products to hit our shelves are from the DermaRadiant line and Osmosis.

osmosis-replenish-1Osmosis Pur Medical Replenish ($27.79) was one of TIA’s Best of 2009 beauty products. There is tough competition in the serum dept these days, but Osmosis Replenish pretty much has it all. The pared down ingredients list punches above its weight with powerful antioxidants. And there is nothing – NOTHING – not to like. And the price to quality ratio is pretty amazing. Worth a shout out is phosphatidycholine. This contains choline (and this is the interesting part), therefore, it is a precursor to messenger molecules that go from cell to cell. And it can improve and protect cells and membrane damaged by free radicals. There are so many other good things: spin trap, a busy molecule that hunts down free radicals and stops them from spinning out of control, GHK copper peptide, turmeric, and chlorella vulgaris extract (a bright green algae, it is loaded with amino acids such as lysine, proline, glycine, and alanine, all of which are the essential building blocks of proteins and constitute each individual collagen unit). Osmosis isn’t widely distributed so we are really happy to have secured for our store.

DermaRadiant  Ageless Eyes ($29.79) was nominated a 2009 winner by the TIA community. It will send your bags packing with something called Eyeliss. This is made up of hesperidin methyl chalcone, a flavonoid extracted from citrus fruits that helps reduce capillary permeability (so the little blood vessels around your eyes don’t leak), plus peptides. Ageless Eyes does more than provide quick relief. There is the antioxidant peptide formulation, Matrixyl 3000, which along with retinol, encourages collagen synthesis. I now know thanks to Gessato (see my earlier post) that aloe is also helpful in the collagen department. Derma Radiant, for what it’s worth, claims to use mid-leaf aloe, which it says is where the most potent properties reside.

Kate loved DermaRadiant Anti-Wrinkle Complex ($38.69) so much she developed a French accent and shouted “theeeese works”. It was clearly effective in reducing sun-damage related wrinkles around her lips when nothing else has worked at all.  The Anti Wrinkle Complex contains the Matrixyl 3000 ingredient (which has shown promising results in independent studies), and while the addition of a collagen ingredient is nothing new, the size of the collagen molecule has been reduced to allow better absorption. The complex ingredient list also includes a nice variety of  good-for-you peptides. This combination, plus avocado  and apricot oil even moisturized nicely. It was not only effective, but gentle.

You can buy Ageless Eyes and AntiWrinkle Complex together for $62.39. Subscribers to our newsletters get 10% of all our products.

      Marta,
Can you give us more information on the Osmosis Vitamin C Blend (TIA store)? Description reads like a cream, but the photo looks like a powder. I’m thinking it’s the Vitamin C additive you wrote about in your Review of Replenish? Review was w/o the C and you were going to try it with. Have you tried it and do you have any thoughts on the Replenish with the C added yet?

Hi Junko, yes that’s the C powder. (Osmosis sent the blurb and I haven’y got around to changing it with our own descriptions). In the end, I didn’t try it because Replenish has copper peptides and supposedly (although I’m not entirely convinced by this) they don’t go together.

    4. Junko Junko says:

I too read that on the Skin Biology site. Still interested in the C powder tho, apart from adding it to the Replenish…will check on the description/ingredients later when you have that updated for us * thanks !

I also tried and loved Dermaradiant Healing Desert facial scrub. I love it! They do have the best customer service. I am thrilled it is in the store now!
