A shiny schnoz can be an embarrassing acoutrement and Cosmedicine thinks it has the solution with Medi Matte. It claims to keep skin smooth and oil-free for at least eight hours. What’s more, ‘clinical trials’ measured a 39% increase in mattification, a 37% reduction in pore size, a 35% decrease in visible shine, and a 19% increase in hydration.

Want to put it to the test? We have a 10ml sample for a would-be reviewer. Assuming you don’t have an issue with chemical sunscreens, there are plenty of things in Medi Matte that are worth getting to know. There is antioxidant pomegranate (punica granatum), which has been shown to enhance the topical effectiveness of sunscreens and it inhibits hyperpigmentation from the sun. There is evening primrose root (which is apparently edible and tastes like parsnips). It has the ability to dilute sebum production – the stuff that gives your face that unwanted luster -  and it is good at calming acne flare-ups, while at the same time hydrating skin.

Pea extract has strong antioxidant properties. Plus there is vitamin B and E. Glucasamine is an amino acid that is usually got from shellfish. Although it can also be derived from wheat this product should be avoided by anyone with shellfish allergies. I haven’t quite got to the bottom of why there is bamboo extract – perhaps as a humectant.

If you’d like less shine on your dime, leave a comment and email us at samples@truthinaging.com with your shipping address and Medi Matte in the subject line.

I’ve never understood matifying products… Free flowing oil on the skin is wonderful unless you’re clogged and dehydrated… How about blotting your t-zone throughout the day?
Matifying products has substances in it that absorbs the oil and prevents it from flowing… right? Therefore clogging the pores? Would this stuff break you out? And prevent your skin from being protected from it’s natural oils???
I’ve used products with silicone in it in the past and have found that they leave your skin silky smooth… until it’s freezing out and your skin is super dry and dehydrated from the harsh weather!… I have a creme that beads up!
The SPF protection is a plus… but matifying?…
