I’ve been trying out Quench for about a week and can report that it protects from the harshest of winds, rapidly heals ragged lips, only requires a couple of applications a day (the complete opposite of most lip balms that seem to need to reapplied with ever-increasing frequency) and has a couple of good anti-agers. The nice people at YBF tell me that they have had some early feedback from testers who felt that the consistency of the product is too soft. It’s certainly much softer than your average chap stick, but, personally, I rather like the creamy texture.
Quench’s base is argan oil, which is full of vitamin C and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Next comes olivem, a combo of cetearyl olivate and sorbitan olivate. Meadowfoam seed oil is increasingly cropping up in cosmetic and hair care products because it is very stable due to its fatty acid composition. Meadowform seeds are 60% omega-9 fatty acids. In practice, it behaves like a safe silicone, adding gloss and helping with the retention of moisture.
No YBF product would be complete without spin trap (phenyl butyl nitrone), a molecule that makes a bee line for free radicals that are spinning out of control and stops them in their tracks before they can do cellular damage. Melon seeds provide vitamin C and an amino acid called citrulline and blueberry provides vitamin E, carotenoids and antioxidants.
What’s also nice about Quench is that YBF has scrupulously avoided anything nasty. Even the wax is derived from rice bran.

This time of year is so hard on my lips, as well as the rest of my skin. It seems I am always applying something and 10 minutes later they feel dry again. I don’t know if it’s the heat inside, cold outside but my poor lips are dry, dry, dry! I would love to try a sample of this and promise to review it. If it can help my lips that would truly be amazing!
I would love to try a sample of this lip balm. I am a balm junkie and would be able to test it against the best and worst of my lip balm drawer (yes, really).
thanks Marta!

I’d love to give the Quench a test and post a review. The reviews and comments on this site have been a godsend in finding products with ingredients I trust.
My lips are cracked and chapped and I just can’t seem to apply enough lip balm. It would be wonderful to find a product that only needs two or three applications a day – I’ve tried so many. I’ll do that sample justice!
BTW -I just ordered the YBF Control and have high hopes.
It would be my pleasure to try and write a review on “Your Best Face Quench!” I have been lucky to have the opportunity to review other beauty products and never failed to write my reviews. I would love to give this lip balm a try because I’ve been on a mission to find THE ONE, and haven’t been successful yet. Thanks.
I would dearly like to try this lip treatment! I’m on accutane, which dries my skin and my lips out something fierce. I’ve only found one lip balm that helps with the constant peeling on my lips, and the woman who makes it is going out of business! Of course I would do a review… if it works on Accutaned-peeling lips, it would work on any lip problem!
I am desperate to try YBF quench. I always wear some type of moisture product on my lips plus I now have a cold preventing me from breathing properly through my nose. Forced to breath through my mouth, my lips are even drier and I am running out of moisture resources.
I received this in sample size. I wasn’t sure I liked it because of the unusual softness of the product. Also, when it arrived in the mail, it was quite cold from sitting in my mailbox and had a grainy texture to it. Soft AND grainy seemed a bit too much. However, after letting it sit overnight and warm up just a bit, the graininess wasn’t quite so much. I don’t know if the graininess is the normal state of this lip balm, and the texture is still unusual, but not completely offputting. It does not leave a grainy feel after application and it does apply well, more like soft lipstick than anything else. After using it for a week or so, I can say that Quench does work at protecting lips outdoors, and it also works well as a nighttime moisturizer. I really do like this.
I swear to write a review!
I could seriously use this product right now. This time of year has been extra brutal on my face and lips and I feel like no matter what I do I can’t find something to relieve the tight, dry feeling I have. I love finding reviews to help my quest in finding good products so of course I’ll review and pass on the favor!
Very difficult – you all seem to be highly deserving and sincere. Chosen at random: Lauren and Vicky.
When I placed my order for the YBF eye cream I added on the YBF Lip Quench and emailed to say could they be posted together. The very nice sales department emailed back and said they were sending the Lip Quench to me as a gift just “because”. So Christmas has come early. I got the parcel yesterday and have tried both. Too early to notice a difference round the eyes but the lip balm is so good I am about to order a couple more (one for the car, one for the handbag). It really is great and as Marta says, one application lasts for ages. I put it on at night now too (I used to use Elizabeth Arden’s 8 hour cream or Vaseline – I dread to think what chemicals I’ve been ingesting all these years).
