Beauty and grooming on the go
Although I am guilty as charged, I hate that I live up to the stereotypes about women’s handbags – a bottomless pit of non-essential essentials. I’ve begun an early spring clean and am purging all but the genuinely useful and if my beauty and grooming products can multitask like the chapstick, moisturizer and wrinkle tackler that is the ThermaSkin Stick (available in the TIA store), so much the better.
No one wants to carry around deodorant but MBeze takes the sweat out of it and even makes underarm care fun. Honestly. I find the Brite Smile Whitening Pen more effective and convenient than Go Smile and Mychelle’s Mist will hydrate, refresh and give your skin its antiaging fix. Lips need constant attention and YBF’s Quench will undo damage from the elements as well as giving your pout a little plumping. With lip cancer on the increase, think about sunscreen for the lips. Optyma’s Lip Perfect provides cutting edge sun protection. And while we are paring things down, why have a brush and a comb when Versi gives you an all in one.

Bright Smiles Teeth Whitening Pen ($22.50) requires a twist to release the product and then all it takes is a targeted rub with the tip and you are good to go. I tried it for about 10 days on a small stain on one tooth and it did the trick. No mess, no swallowed bleach, no drooling and, best of all, no stain. Theres no secret sauce in Brite Smile; the active is peroxide just as it is in just about every other teeth whitening product. Somehow though, the 8% concentration and the consistency of the gel works. Although the EWG doesnt like PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, published studies demonstrated that it is not toxic at a concentration of 100%. On the whole, I think it performs better than Go Smile, another on-the-go whitener, and doesnt require endless rubbing. Bear in mind that Brite Smile is better at micro-targeting specific stains than overall whitening.

ThermaSkin Stick rocks!
I whole-heartedly agree with Tatty on ThermaSkin Stick! I just bought 4 of them for Christmas gifts and another one for me! I think the German women in my family are gonna love the warmth on their lips this winter!!
