If you want a freckle fader, this is it. I had a particularly virulent outbreak of freckles on my nose at the start of the summer and Suki Complexion Brightening Cream is bringing them under control after three or four weeks of daily use. It isn’t cheap at $54.95 for 1.7oz, but with judicious use a little goes a long way.

I would guess that one of the active ingredients is white willow extract. This contains salicin, which the body converts to salicylic acid (this is basis of the synthesis for aspirin, but it is also an exfoliant). Rice germ oil is a skin smoother and slow release vitamin C will clarify the complexion. Wasabi extract is a natural preservative and also a potent anti-inflammatory. Anti-oxidants come in the form of tea, grapeseed and flaxseed.

There is also l-carnitine. I must confess that this is an ingredient I have never really felt I’ve got to the bottom of. Body builders take it because it is supposed to lower cholesterol, prevent muscle fatigue and breakdown fat. It recently cropped up in Nivea’s new cellulite busting cream.

I don’t know if Suki will work on stubborn age spots; I imagine patience over many months would be required. Still, I can testify that this really works for sun-kissed skins and rosacea residue.

      Hi Marta,

Thanks for the review. I love your site.

I was wondering whether you think that this would work for skin discoloration from past acne.

And also, is this applied to the entire face or just as a spot treatment?

Because I also like to have a nice light, even complexion. Wondering if this would help my entire face w/ clarity & evening overall skin tone.

      Thanks!

      Gin,
I think you could use it all over the face (although I personally target). You should also check out our Five Best for brightening: http://www.truthinaging.com/2009/03/five-best-for-brightening-skin.html
