AQ Skin Solutions Eye Serum
Designed to create younger-looking skin by targeting the under-eye area, AQ Skin Solutions Eye Serum minimizes fine lines, fades crow’s feet, lightens dark circles, and firms sagging skin. Gentle but effective, the non-greasy serum is packed with potent anti-aging actives, including Matrixyl 3000 and stem cells to renew dull complexions and accelerate healthy skin cell regeneration. Like all of the products offered in our store, this anti-aging eye cream has been tested and reviewed by women in the TIA community. So you can feel confident that you’re purchasing a product that works.
AQ Skin Solutions Eye Serum is formulated with powerful GF (growth factor) technology, which activates the skin’s natural regeneration capabilities and fights the free radical damage that causes premature aging. With regular use, skin looks smoother, brighter, firmer, and more radiant — and skin cell functions are restored to a younger state.
TIA Review by Marta:
I felt ready to write my review of AQ Skin Solutions Eye Serum about two weeks in. I knew it was going to be a winner. My under-eye area was looking smoother and the lids a little lifted - it even makes my eyelashes grow! Five weeks later (UPDATE: it remains part of my daily regimen), I was ready to pronounce it one of the best I have ever used. AQ's serum for the face is an impressively effective product and the Eye Serum is a totally worthy companion.
Of course, the key active is AQ's human fibroblast conditioned media. This contains growth factors - specifically, TGF-Beta, GM-CSF and PDGF. These signal the cells to do a myriad things, including repairing wounds, stimulating collagen and glycosaminoglycan production, and inhibiting matrix degradation. Growth factors are at the cutting edge of anti-aging skincare, but they are not the only potent actives in AQ's Eye Serum.
Two peptides that make up Matrixyl 3000 are here. This ingredient should be very complimentary to the growth factors as the peptides also encourage collagen synthesis. In addition, there are no less than three ingredients that are supposed to help depuff the eyes: dipeptide-2, which is supposed to improve lymphatic circulation, hesperidin methyl chalcone, which can help strengthen the capillaries, and N-hydroxysuccinimide, supposed to eliminate blood-originated pigments.
The skin around the eye may also be brightened by aminoethylphosphonic acid, which may inhibit melanin (although there is not much research that I could find to back this up), lactic acid and grapefruit extract.
AQ Eye Serum has a very light, gel-like consistency and I can't believe how far it goes. A tiny, pea-size pump does both eyes (under and upper, including the lid). I don't really suffer from dark under-eye circles and so can't testify to its effectiveness in that department, but I have it to be an excellent depuffer. Best of all is the skin tap test - when I gently tap my under-eye area with my finger, the skin feels firm and tight as a drum.
To all of those people who have emailed me recently to say that they love the results they are getting with AQ's face serum and have been dying to know what I think of the eye serum, here is the answer in a nutshell: highly recommended.

This eye cream/serum is truly amazing! It has really provided some huge results for me. Banished my under eye puffiness, reduced crows feet and the one that was highest on my list was the saggy , creepy eye lids. They are so improved. And it is helping with eyelash growth!! Don't think I can find another product that works as well or could provide better results. Thanks AQ!!!!
-
Hi Vicki, I think this AQ eye serum would be a good choice. Although this review is a couple of years old, this eye serum remains an out and out bestseller. The growth factors will help thicken and firm the skin and the peptides will help with dark circles.
-
I don't have puffy eyes, I do have dark circles. I have thinning skin that seems to show "veins" under the eyes. So it would seem I need something that will thicken the skin, and thus the darkness will fade. Do you have suggestions?
-
I tried this product in hopes it would help firm and smooth my under eye skin. I also tried another one recommended on this site but neither one worked and used each for months. the AQ serum burned my eyes slightly too.
So disappointed that I spent so much money and neither one worked. -
The most amazing eye serum I have ever used! I ran a busy medical skincare clinic for ten years in the Sf Bay Area. Tried them all. This one works to "erase" under eye redness and circles. I saw an improvement in less than a week. I ran out and the issues returned within 3 - 4 days. So, it doesn't "heal" but it sure does work with daily application. Also, the bottle lasts almost 2 months, so quite a "deal".
-
I used the eye serum for many months before I figured out it was this that was making my eyes red. I stopped using it around the eye and my eyes cleared up immediately. Now I'm using it on the tops of my lips where it will hopefully help the small lines there. I hope if anyone else has the same reaction, they can pinpoint it faster than I did. I'm sure the serum works well for some, but something in the formula didn't agree with my eyes.
-
Yes Lisa you absolutely can. Lash was formulated to be used alongside the eye serum, which has additional ingredients for dark under eye circles etc
-
Marta, can you use the eye serum and Lash concurrently? I really love my eyelashes with AQ Lash but do not want to give up the eye serum.
Thanks,
Lisa -
I would love to try this product before purchasing it. Where could I get a
sample of it?
Thanks a lot. -
Unimpressed. Paltry results. This eye serum does go a long way, I'll agree with that. I deal with puffiness and dark circles and after having gone through the entire bottle in about two months, I could see no improvement with either of these issues. The serum has a nice feel and I do believe that a eye cream is important so I'm going to keep looking one that actually provides noticeable results. I continued to use it until it was gone, wishful thinking (that and after you spend this kind of $, you better use it!)

I've been using this eye serum for 3 weeks now on one eye.. after all the rave reviews I have to say I was expecting something great .. ... the first few days I did notice a difference everything looked a bit better . I also noticed a very slight lift but after a few weeks I have found if I'm tired the lift isnt noticeable .. it has softened the crows feet very slightly but as the weeks have gone on compared to the other eye the wrinkles under my eye seem to look worse like its dehydrated the under eye skin area .. I have been using it on my eyebrow and lashes on one eye ..so far I havent really noticed anything significant in hair growth.. I think it definately has potential for some people .. maybe who dont suffer from dry or wrinkly under eye areas .. would I use it again No I think I will try something else .. the eye eye cream I used on the other eye is elite serum .. I know its been marketed pretty hard lately but it hasnt done to badly in comparison to AQ .. dont notice any lift with it but the under eye area is better and I think it removes the darkness under your eye slightly better than AQ .

I'm in my mid to late 20's and I have started to notice very early aging around my eyes. I normally don't moisturize as often as I should. I was wondering if I could receive some sort of sample of AQ before purchasing it. Although everyone's reviews seem great I would like to take it for a test drive myself!
Thanks! -
Hi Benay, eye creams often have additional ingredients that are specifically designed to target dark under eye circles, puffyness etc. AQ's serum includes these kind of ingredients. However, if you don't have those issues then you could just try the face serum and see how you get on. For more information on whether eye creams are really necessary, see this post:http://www.truthinaging.com/eyes/are-eye-creams-really-necessary

Hi PL we haven't been able to replicate your issues of slowness in checkout - all is working well. Please try again or contact [email protected] for further assistance.
-
Hi. I would like your opinion on using both an eye serum/cream in conjunction with either the same companies face serum/cream as I have been told by a few derms that it is really necessary to buy a separate eye cream as the facial serum/cream is all you need for the entire face and eye creams are simply a marketing ploy to purchase separe products. What do you think of this??
-
I have tried to buy the eye serum($99)
The network is so slow ....is there another way to order these products in a reasonable amount of time ?
thank you!
-
I also use it on my eyelids and I have not had any problems with any burning or irritation. I have used many eye serums and creams and AQ is the best I have used. It is well worth the money you spend and I have had several people ask me if I have had "some work" done. When I tell them what I am using they don't believe me. The bonus is my sparce eyelashes appear to be getting longer and thicker. I received my samples in my Discover box and will hang on to them in case I run out or for traveling. A little goes a long way. I just don't think I will ever use anything else now.
-
I purchased the AQ eye serum just before leaving for a 5 week trip to Europe. I loved how my eyes looked throughout my trip! Normally my skin takes a beating whenever I leave home, but AQ kept my eyelids hydrated and the creepiness that I have been noticing disappeared. I can't wait to compare this to the YBF Correct which has been sitting in my wish list forever.
-
Hi everyone, please note that we have now run out of AQ eye serum samples. Thank you!
-
Hi Sandra, I use it on my eyelids and I have sensitive skin. So far, I am aware of only one person who said her eyes got puffy after using it.
-
Hi Marta,
Thank you so much for your reply. I have a couple more questions... is it safe to use on the eyelid area? And is it okay for people with sensitive skin? Thank you again! -
Hi Sandra, it is a light gel but I personally find it more than hydrating enough and do not need to use a moisturizer with it. We have a very limited number of samples available so please email [email protected] if you would like to try it.
-
Hi! Does anybody know if this eye serum is moisturizing? The area under my eyes are extremely dry, and most eye creams aren't moisturizing enough for me. Thank you!
-
I would love to try the AQ eye serum. Are you aware of where I might be able to get a sample before I purchase? It sounds amazing
-
Hi Holly, someone had a similar experience with skin tags and ReLuma - must be the growth factors.
-
This is a great product - and it seems to have completely shrunk an irritating skin tag that had developed just above my upper eye lash on one eye. I'd never experienced the annoyance of a skin tag before but finally, on turning 48, I got one. And it was bugging me! I started using both the AQ serums in early July and after a month or so I realised that the the skin tag was becoming smaller. Now it's completely gone! I can only attribute this to the AQ eye serum - so thank you!
-
Marta!
That is fantastic news! The AQ team is going to be ecstatic to hear that news. I have just decided to test that theory out myself with just one eye to compare to the other! I will let you know how I do! -
I have to post an update to my review. AQ's eye serum - used normally as an eye cream - makes eyelashes grow. I haven't used an eyelash growth product for months and months and I noticed after 4 weeks of using AQ Eye Serum that my eyelashes had become much longer and darker. At first I thought I was imagining it, then someone else noticed. Aha! An added bonus from an already great product.
-
Hi Karen, if you want to try both then use one at night and the other in the morning (AQ says its products work better overnight).
-
Marta, Got your e-mail, thanks for the advice to bookmark my questions. Still unsure of YBF/Correct or AQ. I have great skin, but "crepey" lids is my only problem to date. No dark circles and my eye cream is fabulous. So, would it work to use both of them, or too much product on such a delicate area of the eye/skin? Thank you!
-
You're very welcome!
For anyone who is wanting to sample AQ Skin Solutions, look for BOTH the AQ Active Serum and AQ Eye Serum in Marta's "Discover with Marta!". -
Very Informative and very helpful!!
Thank you very much! -
Hi Reanne,
Thank you for your question! To answer your question, growth factor technology has been around since the 1980's, and have been patented for cosmetic use since 1994. To date, there are no published articles of any negative effects from topically applied growth factors. Our founder and formulator, Dr. Ahmed Al-Qahtani actually used this technology to grow skin on 3rd degree burn victims. You can do more research on him at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed and type in his name to see the studies that he's published.
Our growth factors are proteins that are naturally found and produced by your body's fibroblast cells (skin cells). Over time, as you age and due to sun damage, your body loses its fibroblast cells and does not produce as much of these growth factors. These growth factors are what help to repair the skin and keep it youthful and vibrant. What we've done at AQ Skin Solutions is: taken a human fibroblast cell from donated tissue, and we've genetically modified and purified the cell to produce the purest growth factors possible and only the ones that are beneficial to the skin. We now duplicate our genetically modified cells in a FDA approved diagnostic lab and have a patented cell line. The growth factors in our products are collected from our purified cell line. So our growth factors are the same proteins that your body makes when it is healing the skin.
We always say that it is safer and more recognized by your body than foreign proteins or ingredients that are made from chemical, plants and sometimes animals. A good example is that if you really think about it, plants make growth factors that are beneficial to itself. But a plant thrives on photosynthesis, the sun. Whereas in human skin, the sun can cause skin cancer and it what causes aging and damage.
Also, growth factors act locally on the skin and do not enter the bloodstream. They are not recycled by the body and do not travel through the bloodstream to other parts of the body. Your body recognizes what it is and uses it accordingly. The US FDA also allows for use of growth factors in cosmetics.
That was a lot of information! But I hope that I was able to answer any questions you may have. If you have any further questions, of course absolutely feel free to email me directly at [email protected].
Thank you so much for your patronage, for using AQ, and for having questions! keep them coming! -
Hi Raeann, I'll let AQ comment on the specifics of where they source their actives. In the meantime, here is some background on human conditioned media: http://www.truthinaging.com/ingredient-spotlight/stem-cells-and-human-conditioned-media
The long term effects question is a good one. I have not yet come across any research or evidence of concerns, but obviously this is on my radar and I'll post any interesting information that I come across. -
AQ seems to good to be true. I am seeing great results and loving it. I guess I have a question for Marta and Pam. I'm using the AQ face and eye serums twice a day, everyday. AQ is always the first thing to touch my face.
After long term use, could growth factors cause harmful or strange side effects??
I don't know much about growth factors and
and I don't want to end up regretting using them . Also could you please educate us on exactly where the growth factors come from??Thank you. -
Hi TaraB,
The dark circles around the eyes are due to poor circulation. AQ Skin Solutions has specific ingredients to improve circulation and get rid of dark circles. I think you will be very pleased! -
Hi TaraB, they are both really good. I personally don't have a dark circles issue and so can't really compare them effectively. But for tightening and firming I have found AQ a little better for me.
-
Hello Martha, What would you choose for dark circles, wrinkles, tightening and firming - AQ Skin Solutions Eye Serum or ReLuma Eye Serum? I'm finding it difficult to choose between the two. Thank You
-
That's a hard choice Karen. They are both really good. I think AQ is better at tightening/firming and Correct is better for crepey skin on lids or under the eyes, so it would depend what your need is.
-
Marta, so if you were to choose, would you purchase AQ Skin Solutions Eye Serum or Correct? I want to get the best product for best results. Thanks.
-
Hi Kate, I don't put anything over the serum apart from sunscreen. I find it is hydrating enough on its own. I am pleased you are enjoying it so far.
-
Marta I've been waiting for the results of your trial of the eye serum. I've been using the face serum for approx 2 weeks now and am really pleased with the results so far. I should have known that the eye serum would be just as good but wanted to be sure before spending the money. I know that you use the face serum in the morning (I use it at nite) so have to ask if you put anything on over the serum besides sunscreen?
Thanks for your update! -
I'm so excited to have a new eye product to try. I'm just finishing up my bottle of Reluma Eye Cream and have been on the search for something new. I was wondering if this product works well on wrinkles. My wedding is in 7 weeks and I was hoping to find somethign that will make a difference on wrinkles in that time frame. I like to use Correct on my upper lids for crepiness, but really need a new eye product for wrinkles. Thanks for the discovery Marta.

In my quest to find an eye cream that works as well as YBF Correct but doesn't cost as much, I tried this. If anything, it's made the very slight sagging under my eyes *worse*. I tried adding one drop of YBF Private Reserve oil...still no dice. Also made sure I'm well-hydrated, haven't eaten sugar in 3 months, getting enough sleep. Broke down and purchased the always-reliable Correct. ::sigh::
I have been using AQ Skin Solutions Eye Serum on and off for the past 5 years or so. The only time I stop is when I'm trying another eye serum. I'm absolutely in love with this product because it makes a tremendous difference in the way my eyes look! Actually, that's an under statement! There is nothing that even comes close to the results I receive from using this eye cream!! It is a fabulous brightener for my under eyes, primarily around the inside corners . It works wonders for puffiness around the entire eye area as well and I'm fairly certain it helps my eye lashes to grow !
I have been using this eye serum now for 10 months (same bottle). I cannot believe how long it lasts!!!! I only use it once a day and it is so lightweight that it absorbs immediately. It definitely helps with eyelash growth which is great! For dark circles, I use Truth Vitality Gel, which targets that, as well as other skin concerns. I’m reordering both now!!
I was extremely surprised that it was not irritating in the least. And a tiny bit went a very long way. A tiny pea-size covered both eyes—lids, sides and the undereye area.Once I started using the AQ Eye Serum, I noticed within days that my eye area looked “fresher,” if that’s possible. Even after nights when I had been up late, I noticed a marked decline in the puffiness under my eyes whereas my previous eye cream did not help with puffiness at all and best of all, the smile crinkles stopped hanging around for overtime.
Back in 2014 I used this product and didn't like it, my old review reflects my dislike. However, after recent medical lab work, I found there was something else going on in my body that negatively affected my skin & hair for years and also minimized the effectiveness of skincare I used (I've used a lot of different products and had a complex regimen.) With that medical problem being addressed, I did some re-thinking about skin products and priorities. Long story short, one of the recommendations from an esthetician was to simplify my regimen and add a product with growth factors - specifically recommending AQ, and a good moisturizer. I did and absolutely love what is now happening to my mature, crepey eyelid skin. After a few weeks, I'm seeing a consistent re-hydration and skin elasticity whereas before it was a roller coaster with other products and highly dependent on factors other than skin care. I'm making the assumption that this product is actually doing something significant underneath the surface of my skin to manifest these improvements that remain. Although my undereye skin is somewhat sensitive, I have not experienced any irritation or other negative effects. I'm seeing small signs of improvement in my upper lids as well, some of the crepey inner corner is smoothing and when I wear makeup it seems like some of my contour is more noticeable. The skin surface both above and below the eyes is much improved - very unexpected.
I'm in my mid-sixties and have used AQ Eye Serum for 3+ years. I have a love/hate relationship with this product but keep coming back to it.
The Love: the formula is excellent at keeping fine lines and crows feet at bay. I use any extra product that comes out on lip lines. I think it helps with crepiness too but I rely on ybf Correct for that. An unusual side effect I found is that it helps keep a couple of skin tags I have under my eyes from getting too large. When I don't use this they do get larger but reduce when I start using it again. Another bonus feature is eyelash growth. It helps eyebrows too but I can't use this product on that part of my eyes which brings me to the hate part of the relationship.
This product contains phenoxyethanol which I am very sensitive to. When I use it under my eyes it's doable. But if I get it on my eyebrows or any part of upper eye my skin burns and flakes for days. I have the same reaction when using AQ face serum. I know not everyone has bad reactions to phenoxy. but I have to avoid so many products that use this ingredient. My other peeve with the eye serum is the crazy way it squirts product. Here's hoping the new container has fixed that.
I love this product as it makes such a huge difference for me with crepiness, crows feet, and sagging. In addition it works so well for eyelash growth which was a really nice surprise!! I am wondering how long the .5 ounce size lasts for people using this? It lasts me about 4 weeks and I think I may be using too much however it seems like it would be hard to use less.
I am thrilled to say that AQ listened to your feedback and have come up with a new bottle that addresses these issues. Same great formula, but with packaging that now lives up to a Truth In Aging bestseller!
Hi Susan
So sorry to hear your poor experience with the AQ pump. AQ has reassured us that they are currently looking for a new bottle for the eye serum. Unfortunately, testing new bottles take time and the ones they've tested have not been successful to resolve all of the issues, however. they hope to find a solution by fall.
The eye serum is still one of our hero products, and despite the occasional pump issue, we still think it's a powerful heavy hitter worth considering for younger looking eyes!
Ok, so the one star is for the container. Each night I would struggle -- yes, truly struggle -- to push down on the pump in as controlled a manner as possible so as not to release more product than necessary. This worked less than 25% of the time, which meant I put contaminated product back into the container or I rubbed it into other areas on my face. Huge waste.
This is a fantastic product, but the container really, really needs to be changed out for one more efficient.
I should have paid closer attention to the complaints about the pump on this product. I bought it in hopes of improving the sag and wrinkles of my upper eyelid/brow area. I have wrestled with the pump every day - no matter how carefully I try to control it, It shoots out a huge wasteful glob that is far too much for just my eyes. I also have not seen any improvement in my eyelid and brow area. I am seeing a bit of the eyelash and brow hair effects, so I will give it a few stars.
I've already written a review of AQ Skin Solutions Eye Serum (March 12, 2016). Gave it 4 stars--would've been 5, except for the pump mechanism. I still LOVE it's effects at night combined with YBF's Correct. My eyelashes are still improving in thickness and the combination has worked well (Correct and AQ Eye).
But since I tend to "Pollyanna" almost everything AND because the AQ Eye Serum pump is still so unpredictable DESPITE my efforts to 'catch' every drop as it SPLAYS into my cupped hand...I've started using the remaining product on my EYEBROWS! I've been an ardent user of Truth Vitality Brow Empower with copper peptides--which have helped somewhat in rejuvenating my sparse dirty-blonde, (chemo) + hormone-challenged brows.
Adding my 'left over' AQ Skin Solutions Eye has been the jump-start I've needed to see my brows actually appear from the middle to the outer edge--albeit, still thin, especially in the outer ⅔. BUT, until I started this new application, I thought I'd NEVER see my natural brows again!! I'm hoping that with more time (I just started this new use about two weeks ago), I'll be able to leave my house without eyebrow pencil application!!--my ONLY "must-wear" makeup!!
I have been using this eye serum for over a month, and I really like it. I love the consistency of it, its lack of fragrance, and the results I have seen. I can see a real difference in my crow's feet and in the overall tightness of my upper eyelid. However, I am reluctant to reorder it because the pump is so, so, so aggravating. Some mornings, I am able to carefully depress it only about 1/3 of the way and dispense the amount of serum I need. Other mornings, the pump is really tight, and no matter how carefully or how much I depress the pump, it shoots out 3 day's worth of product. Gggrrrr. In addition, I think that partially depressing the pump has caused a build up of pressure or something, because the product is starting to ooze out of the bottle around the base of the pump. I don't know what little demon is hiding inside that little bottle, but I have to say I rather dread the 'jack-in-the-box' aspect of it each morning. I never know when it's going to explode and I find myself tensing and cringing when I depress the pump - not pleasant! And, the closer I come to the end of the bottle, the testier that little demon seems to be - at this point the Jack is exploding out of the bottle every other morning. All-in-all, it makes for a LOT of wasted product.
I've been using AQ Eye Serum for almost 4 months and the fine lines around my eyes have really diminished. I love this product! I will absolutely reorder!
This eye serum (among many others I've tried and still use in combination) is the ONE product that has INCREASED THE GROWTH AND THICKNESS OF MY EYELASHES!! By chance, I happened to watch a video of you, Marta, coming home after a long day and AQ Skin Solutions Eye Serum was ONE of your 'go-to-products' for the evening (among many others!). It piqued my interest & I started reading about both this product and it's partner the Lash Serum. It DID state in some of the reviews of the AQ Skin Solutions EYE Serum, that with careful application to the area NEAR the eyelashes, SOME customers had seen growth and/or increased fullness of their eyelashes.
So, after purchasing Darrell Owens' bedtime regimen of YBF Restore, Correct (eye), uplift toner mist, and Private Reserve Slumber Blend (anti-oxidant oil), I added the AQ Skin Solutions Eye Cream to my evening regimen. After cleansing and misting with YBF's uplift toner mist, I always apply vitamin c products first (Skinfinite Advanced C20+ Serum to problem areas, Mad Hippie to my face/neck and Sciote Vitamin C Eye Treatment) in hopes of working on my tiny spider veins, cheek discolorations & eye area tiny lines, dark circles, & puffiness). I then apply the AQ Skin Solutions Eye Serum under the YBF Correct and finish out with YBF's Restore and Slumber Blend Oil. If I'm feeling particularly dehydrated from working in a 60 degree, zero percent humidity operating room all day & into the night, I sometimes add MitoQ at the end of my nighttime regimen to my face, eyes and neck. Surprisingly, all of these products do not make my face feel the least bit oily or over-hydrated before bed.
Within a WEEK, I noticed that my poor eyelashes, already light in color naturally, which ALSO took an irrevocable hit after chemo 5 & 6 years ago, had come out of hibernation!! I can actually see eyelashes extending up (I'm very squeamish about using eyelash curling devices, so perhaps I'm loosing out?) and thickening. Using it with the YBF Correct has also helped the under-eye morning puffiness that has plagued me in the last few years, despite drinking a minimum of three to four liters of water a day. (It helps that I live in a metro area that usually has around 98% humidity, so everyone's thirst mechanism is in over-drive.)
The serum is very thin, has little to no scent, and is easily spread over both eyelids to the brow, down to the base of my eyelashes and under my eyes out to the top of my cheekbones. Once or twice, I've gotten a tiny bit near my tear ducts and this eye treatment product is the only one that can be extremely irritating to my eyes in this circumstance. I also use a bit around my lips and mouth, as I do all of my eye creams and serums.
Con: I would give this product five stars IF the container pumped out a consistent amount and I could guide WHERE it pumped. I learned after my first time to pump very softly into the palm of my left hand (I'm right-handed) so I would not miss a drop of the serum which has a tendency to splay as it sprays. If the pump/container mechanism changes, I will definitely upgrade my rating of this fantastic product to five stars!
In summary, the mere fact that I've seen an amazing and incredibly FAST (after use for just 7-10 days) growth in thickness AND length in my eyelashes without adding another product has convinced me that this will be a permanent part of my skin care regimen.
For me, this eye serum is amazing!!!. It totally smooths the fine lines around my eyes.
Of course, as an eye serum, it's not suppose to be used alone. I put an eye cream after I wait for the serum to be absorbed by the skin.
One thing I don't like at all, and I will rate with a zero if I could, it's the pump. It's so bad quality for a product that cost $99!!!. Every time that I press the pump, there's tons of product coming out. What I do is to use a small container where I pump the product, and I store it there. It's good for 3 applications.
Please!!!, change the packaging for something of better quality and more precise pumping.
This product is still so amazing.....I first purchased this product in 2014. I was so impressed with how it made my sparse looking lashes so lush and full. After finishing the bottle I decided to try something different. I Did not think much about my eyelashes until purchasing this product again and receiving a week ago. My lashes are so full and lush again in less than a weeks time. I am gong to stick with this eye serum, it saves me the expense of a separate eye lash serum, which I find to sting my eyes unlike this product that does double duty. I like the lightweight formula and how it makes the skin around my eyes more taught and it is good for layering which I tend to do. I just turned 60 and so far I have no lines around my eyes and I want to put those off as long as possible. I know I have read other reviews complaining about the delivery system. The pump seems to squirt this product out oddly, meaning all over the place. I solved that issue by pumping into the palm of my hand so nothing is wasted and then apply to my eyes with my fingers. Try this product. it is a five star despite the nuisance of the pump.
Amarte Eyeconic Eye Cream. There's something about the product that agrees with me. I keep looking at the AQ ingredients as opposed to Eyeconic. I've also had good luck with their BB cream so maybe there's the link. Planning to write a review shortly
The suspense is killing me Eliza - what's the name of the one that worked?
I ordered this at the end of November. Gave it approximately 2 months to do its thing. Unfortunately, it kept stinging my eyelids. And the pump puts out too much product. The excess was applied to the back of my hand (didn't sting).
In order to give AQ a fair shake I stuck with it. However, this serum did not address puffiness and that was very evident from the beginning. Puffiness is an issue for me! And l so wanted my eyelids to grow! The eyelash growth rumors were another reason I want to keep using it! I really did try and I understand products work differently on different people.
However, it's $99 for a very small amount. The bottle is a nice size, but it only contains .5 ounces. So, when you hit the pump it puts out twice the amount of product needed. So that in itself is a great loss.
Anyway, there is a somewhat happy ending to this review. In a continuous effort to find good product I ordered another eye cream from TIA and guess what! Huge success! My puffiness is practically gone
My reason for trying this product was wrinkled upper eyelids. I had previously tried two products with acyl-glutathione that worked but were so very drying & irritating that I had to discontinue use. With the first use of AQ eye serum, my eyelids were smoother and tighter in appearance and continue to improve with continued usage. I had no irritation when a very small amount was used. The bonus is the improvement in my eyelashes and eyebrows. After about 2 months of usage I noticed that there was more hair in my brow. After 3 months I noticed that I no longer have any broken eyelashes. There were more eyelashes and they were longer. It is now much easier to apply mascara. The negatives of this product are: The pump is difficult to control, which can result in waste of an expensive product and, for me, irritation when too much product is used. I did not find much improvement on lines and puffiness under my eyes. I have not found any other product that works as well on smoothing the upper eyelids without irritation. The improvement in eyelashes & eyebrows is a bonus. IMO this product, though expensive, is worth purchasing.
It's true---- the first pump of this serum shot off like I would have been using a nerf gun and ended up 3 feet away on the floor!!!! BUT after that, you get wise and aim the bottle down into your palm each time you apply. This serum seems to be chock full of all of the great things you could ask for in a serum, and it doesn't dissappoint. It seems to have a firming effect, and is non-greasy, and quickly absorbs into your skin leaving a clean windex like dew. I do use it in other areas of my face besides the eye area---and I love it. I have re-purchased twice, and will continue to be an avid user, until something else pops up on "truth in aging" worth trying! This serum doesn't disappoint.
I was excited to try this product and my initial pump concerns were heard by TIA customer service who always provide great support. I can not say I have seen any noticeable change since using the product. I personally do not care for the watery texture and would choose a cream over this. I was so hoping it would help with under eye area-sagging, darkness, crinkles when I smile... but it looks like I'll be searching further for the one that's right for me. I also never experienced the "bonus" eyelash growth that many folks here spoke of. For me it's far too pricey to not see visible results.
Very disappointed in the pump bottle. Cannot control the flow of the product and sometimes it literally flies across the room even though I have it crunched into my hand. Will not purchase this again because of this problem.
Dear Marta and TIA community,
AQ Eye Serum is my first purchase on TIA.
I wanted to try something simple and straight forward. As I have purchased so many useless and pricey eye serums/gels/creams/waters/masks and what not, I surely have benchmarks.
I am 45, have Asian eyes with very thin skin, lids that have started to sag, and most of all that are very puffy due to current lack of exercise and far from optimal diet (sugar, salt, dairy and gluten).
So, I was very curious to see if that miraculous AQ would do anything. I must admit having been skeptical but had nothing to lose.
Well, I must say that on day 2, I started to notice the fine lines under my eyes to almost "iron out".
After a week, I had a crease again and after 10 days the puffiness is very much reduced - almost as if my eyes area underwent a detox!
As for the dark circles, they are still there (reddish).
We are supposed to pull a half-pump and I must say I always get too much product, so I apply it all around my eyes and on my eyebrows and whatever is left over on my…forehead! I feel it has helped reducing the lines up there as well!
My only reservation regarding the product is perhaps that it is not very hydrating. And I am not sure whether it is meant to be an eye serum followed by an eye cream or a product on its own. In any case, so far I have used it alone at night and under an eye cream in the morning.
I have also just ordered the curated "gorgeous eyes duo" composed of AQ eye serum and Sciote Vit C eye Treatment and am not too sure how to use them: one after the other or one AM and one PM?
Thank you for letting me know and thank you for changing my life.
I was planning a blepharoplasty and I think I might be able to postpone it for a few years due to the indeed miraculous AQ eye serum.
Thanks Martha, I have been following the directions on the bottle and pushing halfway down - it's still very difficult to control the amount that squirts out. I'll get in touch with TIA via email.
Hi Lori, we have experienced this issue, but not often. Please attempt a half pump and see if that helps dispense a smaller amount. If that doesn't help, then please let [email protected] know via email and we will have AQ send you a replacement.
This one was a surprise and took some time. When I first used it (my purchase was based on the number of great reviews), there was no drama, no scent, no nothing. It absorbed quickly as though it wasn't even there. It didn't irritate my face, even after shaving. It didn't provide any shine or glow (a man wants none of that). It was sort of.....well...nothing. But I to tinted to use it up completely and even reordered because, well, why not. It was when I stopped using it that i truly appreciated what it was doing. I don't use makeup or multiple products. Just wash, shave, rinse, moisturizer (with a separate eye serum) and run out the door to work, this stuff is good; very good! My skin was clear and firm and my eyes looked less tired, less dark, many less wrinkled. I know there aren't many, if any men who write reviews here or admit to using something on there skin other than dial soap but I always want to be my best and this is great stuff, easy to use, and reasonably priced.
I just purchased this eye serum and am very disappointed with the pump. No matter how gentle and careful I am, more than twice the amount I need squirts out each time. And forget about putting it onto a finger as the directions state... it ends up splattering on and off my finger so I need to squirt it into my palm. I have been using Sciote Firming Eye Creme and love how easy it is to get just the right amount for each eye! At this rate, the AQ Serum will not last long at all... and for the price, that's a real concern. Has anyone else had the same experience or any suggestions?
The serum is really good as compared to dept store brands. However the 2nd bottle which I'm using now has a faulty pump, the serum does not come out from the nozzle, instead it oozes out from the joints. In the end more serum comes out than needed which is a waste.
I am very disappointed in this eye product. After using it for a few weeks (morning and night), my eyelids are now red and I think the skin under my eyes looks worse. Perhaps it is not appropriate for my age group (74) but the reviews were great and it was a real investment for me.
I bought AQ Eye Serum because it was touted to remove dark under eye circles. Although I can't yet benefit from its more potent, anti-aging effects (in my late 20s), it was indeed very effective at treating my chronic under eye circles. It also made the skin around my eyes very supple and taut, and lengthened both my upper and lower lashes. I haven't used it in about a year or so—I intended to find a product more suitable for my age range, focusing on prevention rather than repair—and since then, my eyelashes have gone back to normal and I've noticed more delineation between the skin under my eyes and at the top of my cheeks.
This is my favorite eye treatment. My eyes have never looked better, and my lashes are so full, I love this product!
After using it for over a month twice a day I can say that it didn't work for me. I was expecting some lifting/firming on the upper eyelid but unfortunately I got nothing. I didn't notice any grow in my eyelashes but I was not applying specifically on it so, I cannot say if it works or not for growing them.
Hi Claudia, sorry to hear that. Take a look at our most recent Five Best and see if anything else appeals: https://www.truthinaging.com/review/five-best-eye-serums-2014/
I have purchased this item and saw no visible difference. Would love to try another that works though!
Totally satisfied with this product. My upper eye skin is noticeably lifted and my dark circles are definitely reduced.
I use both the face and eye serums from AQ and can't say enough about them! My eye skin is significantly improved. I was starting to consider getting an eye lift and now I won't bother. I will be sticking with this line.
I give this product a 4-star rating, as the only perfect solution to aging eyes is an eye-lift (I know, I know, we Truth-in-Agers don't believe in going under the knife).
However, this serum is GREAT.
I purchased it in January of this year, and wasn't in love with it, except it did increase my lash length. I wrote a review expressing my disappointment with the product, and can't locate it here. Hmmm...I want to update it, but do not know where it is hiding. :)
After NOT using it for a time, I have learned to appreciate it. It really is very, very good. The skin surrounding my eye took on an overall more younger, healthier, awake look, which is the very best way I can sum it up (I must simply not have discerned the improvement at the time). Oh, and don't forget the longer lashes, which is a wonderful extra bonus.
Some here have commented on it's deficiency to be one-in-all. This is true, as it is a serum. I layered a treatment cream over it in the evening, but for day use, I used it solo and it was very good under make-up.
I went to order it just now and TIA is out of stock. :( I've signed up to be notified when new stock arrives....will the 20% LABORDAY discount be applied?
This eye serum is without a doubt the very best. I recently ran out and during the time I was waiting to order and receive a new bottle, I had several samples of eye serums and creams I thought I might as well try. Needless to say my eyes can not live with out this serum. It works perfectly for me, as other products I tried, either left an oil slick or left the eye area parched and dry. I will be sure to always have plenty on hand so as to not run out again. I can honestly say it deserves the number one position, as it is the best and nothing I have tried even compares!
I received this in the Discover with Marta Collection and this is a very nice eye serum. It hydrates the eye area very well, but is not sticky. I did not notice a reduction in fine lines though. Maybe I need to use this longer. I don't care for the roller though that came with the sample. I find it difficult to determine how much serum I have used.
It really does the job of softening fine lines and firming eye lids. A bit pricey but in the long run, it is of good value since just a little amount glides smoothly and evenly around both eyes and there might be enough to last for around 6+ months and that's a long time!
AQ is the best for me. I like the consistency of a serum. It is hydrating not drying. It firms and reduces puffiness. It does make the eyelashes grow as Marta has attested to. I even dab it on my brows! It is a multi-tasker and definitely the best eye product I have found for my mature 47 year young eye area.
I have been using this serum for about two months as part of my morning routine and am very glad that I purchased it (I would have deducted a star for the pump, it's really hard to get the correct amount out) but reviews now say that this was corrected -- phew!) It is lightweight enough to use under my eye cream and works well under makeup. Also, I am seeing a slight improvement in my lashes, which is an absolute bonus. Though not inexpensive, I would say it's worth a try.
Hi Allison, I will try to address the various comments you make. Firstly, I am sorry that you didn't get good results. Not everything works for everyone and this is because the root cause of skin conditions can be different for different people. Dark under eye circles are a good case in point. If you read are article on dark under circles (http://www.truthinaging.com/review/tackle-dark-under-eye-circles) you will see that an underlying cause may be nasal congestion. It can take trial and error to find out what works for you. With regards to our return policy, the first thing I would like to note is that we invest more than any beauty site I know of in research and testing so that consumers can be as well informed as possible before they make a purchase. We are a small company and simply cannot afford an open-ended return policy. Having said that, I am grateful for your feedback and will take it on board as we review our return policy.
Unfortunately I too had absolutely no results after using this product for an extended amount of time. Why does it work for some with such great results and do nothing for others, doesn't make sense to me. I have dark circles and some crepiness under the eye but it didn't change. I was very disappointed.
Another note: The refund/exchange policy is too short, by the time you use a new product, 4-8 weeks to see results it's too late too return if it doesn't work for you. i even called and talk to someone about it before I bought it. So now I have 2 eye creams that I wasted money on. Marta, if you really believe in these products you should extend the policy.
Loved receiving my sample in my Discover with Marta collection and it is a 'wow'. Couldn't get over how wonderful the rolling balls felt in application but the added bonus was how it tamed my unruly eyebrows!! Only 4 stars because of the price:(
After reading Marta's review of this product I ordered it and boy has it delivered. I am 58 with no crows feet but there was a small line and bag forming under my left eye. I have been using this product for 4 weeks now and the line and bag are gone. I follow up the serum with a very small drop of emu oil under my eyes for a boost. My under eye area is firm and my brows seem lifted. And OMG my eyelashes are longer and thicker. No longer do I need to buy expensive eyelash growth products that sting my eyes. and turn the lids red. I will continue to buy this serum…..unless of course something even better comes along!!!
Well, I just re-ordered the AQ Skin Solutions Eye Serum. For me, this is a really big commitment . I am celebrating my 67th birthday this week, and am happy to admit it these days. I think firm under eye skin and happy eyes are a woman's best friend. I've tried many eye treatments/ products since I joined the "mature women's club", and I think I finally found the one for me! And....as an added benefit, I do believe my eyelashes are growing!
After receiving a sample in my first TIA box,Winter, I am very disappointed. My eyes are flaking and very dry. Will not be purchasing this product.
I've gone through the entire bottle of AQ Skin solutions, using it twice a day over a period of 3 months, and it has had absolutely NO effect on fine lines and wrinkles under my eyes. It did, however, make my eyelashes grow thicker.
Sadly, after using the serum 2 X per day for over 2 months, there were no improvements in my 62-year-old undereyes. In fact, my skin became more crepey and unsightly than before, so I just stopped using the serum. I'm very dissappointed in this product. After reading all the glowing reviews by people who started noticing results within days, I thought for sure this product would work for me, but it did not.
A generous sample of this product was included in TIA's Winter 2014 Discover with Marta collection. After just a few days I can see a substantial difference around my eyes - firmer, tighter, less pronounced lines and wrinkles, brighter. This one is a keeper! I don't want to run out so I just ordered a full size bottle. I loved the roll on dispenser in the trial size. The metallic roller ball is so cool and soothing. I wish the full size products would dispense via roller ball, too. This would be ideal.
excellent eye serum! super light weight and as many have said... a little goes a very, very long way! after a month of consistent use at night and first thing in the morning, i am noticing drastic reduction in the puffiness around my eyes. i did not have this puffiness until the last couple of years and it is incredibly aging- such a huge relief to find something (besides preparation h!) that really works. darkness has been reduced as well. i don't have terribly bad wrinkles so i cannot address that as much, but overall i am really happy!
I love using AQ Eye Serum - it is absolutely wonderful for diminishing fine lines and creepiness. Longer eye lashes are a wonderful bonus to boot!
I really was excited to receive this product. Sadly, my eyes reacted to it, with slight eyelid swelling and redness, as well as itching. I do have sensitive skin but tend to tolerate quality products (YBF, LOL) well. Not sure what triggered my reaction here, but this is not going back on my eyes :(
After using the serum for almost a year, I'm finally noticing that the lines underneath my eyes are less deep. Excited to find a product that works when used diligently!
Hi Pam,
The pumps should have definitely been fixed. We changed vendors a few months back. Please let me know if you are still having pump issues.
Thank you!
Pamela Xiong at AQ Skin Solutions
Does anyone know if the problem with AQ's pump delivery system has been fixed?
I love this serum because it is a great value for the money. I think I am on month three with it. A little goes a very long way.It is NOT a miracle worker, but really what is besides a scalpel at my age? LOL. However, I LOVE that it is not oily or greasy. I wear it with contacts and eye makeup and very rarely have my usual raccoon eye look.
Cathy,
i had the exact same problem and the issue was with bergamot essential oil which is irritating and makes the skin photosensitive. Don't know why they still insist on using it. I'd still be using this stuff if it wasn't for this ingredient but chronic inflammation is a no no.
Unfortunately, AQ Eye Serum did nothing for me. I used it for about 5 months morning and night and am so disappointed.
Ok - I finally took the plunge to spend the bucks and purchase AQ Eye Serum. I am currently using Michael Todd's Organic eye treatment and it works fine. I have noticed a difference (when I stopped using it), but decided it's time to try AQ
I am 55 with sagging eye lids and the usual long list of the effects of aging. I get overwhelmed with all the products on this site. Am still looking for an affordable non irritating age spot remover. Ideas?
I am excited to receive my AQ in the mail. Sagging eyelids, dark spots and puffiness here comes AQ.
I love this eye serum which I am using in conjunction with YBF correct - I often use this in the morning and correct at night to make both last longer, but sometimes I double up if my eye area is a little dry, because the serum isn't moisturising. The beginnings of crows feet that I had are completely gone and the crepiness on my lids, just above my lashes is pretty much gone which I put down to the AQ serum. My under eye puffiness has massively improved which could be down to either cream, but my dark circles haven't improved at all (I realise that this is a hard problem to shift). But the lash growth is incredible - thicker and longer - love it!
This is the best eye serum I have used. And I have tried many. It is moisturizing, lasts all day, and definitely helps with dark circles. You only need a small amount; so one bottle lasts a long time. Months!
Doesn't do much for the upper lid..... but my eyelashes look thicker than they did :)
Thanks, Marta.... glad to know about avoiding that preservative while nursing, but I hope I can still find good products without it!! I'll probably have to check back before my next purchases, because I only know about a few well-known ingredients to avoid for pregnancy, and apparently not all of them for nursing, either.
Hi Bethany
That's correct, the growth factors are not hormone based nor are they estrogen mimicers. The same goes for the other actives, which are peptides. Note that the FDA advises nursing mothers to avoid phenoxyethanol, the preservative used here (and in just about everything).
Hi Marta,
I received my AQ Eye Serum about 2 weeks ago and have since found out that I'm pregnant. Is it safe to use, given the human growth factor ingredients?? I read somewhere that they are protein, and not hormone-based, in this product, so assumed that is someone safer, but please let me know!
This really does work. My eye area was looking tired, less firm but I've liked it enough to purchase my second bottle & my skin firmness is noticeably improved. I like that I can use it on my lids, & I love the lash-lengthening bonus side-effect. I don't really have wrinkles, so I can't speak to wrinkle reduction. I took off one star for packaging - the dispenser wastes product.
I also love this product, but I have the same issues as Selena with the pump. It doesn't work properly and the serum comes up around the base of the pump. It is too expensive to send it back and pay shipping rates from another country ( I live in Canada).
Hi Selena,
Please contact us at [email protected] and we will be happy to help you via email.
Thank you!
Hi, I have been using this serum for 2 weeks and I can see improvement on the fine ines around my eyes. The puffiness is still there and my darke circle looks lighter. My eyes look lifted and more fresh and the fine lines are less visible. Have not notice any growth with my lashes yet. The serum is light and easy to apply and I dont apply any thing else. I dont use much make up except eyeliner and mascara. This serum works fine and the skin around my eyes feel hydrated.
The only complain is about the bottle. When I squeese it, the serum come from around the pump, it is quite expensive to waste so much serum with a mult- function pump. When I travel with it, the bottle also leak and serum spilled from the bottle mainly from the pump area.. very annoying. I wish to get a replacement, as it is such a waste.. I live in Singapore and it is expensive to send the product back for a new bottle.. Can anyone hlep with this? Thanks
it's ok... it's better some a lot of other serums and creams i've tried. Yet i find it nothing super special. It does give you a nice tightening effect, but it's not that great of a moisturizer. I've used: la mer, la prairie, clinique, skinceuticals, origins and about 10 other brands over the last 3 years. I must say that i have not had "wow" this is it with any of it. I am in my late 20s and i have tiny crow feet that about to become not so tiny, as i'm super fair complexion - so every tiny wrinkle just shows. I was very impressed with AQ concentrated serum (can't stand the price $300!! and for the full disclosure it was J•bio™ - which is the white-label for AQ serum according to AQ founder i spoke with about it) - that one i applied around my eye area for 1 week and boom - my crow feet were gone! it was that i can't believe my eye effect - did i get botox or serum can do this for real? type of situation :) - but when i bought a more reasonably priced version (that is eye serum) - the effect was not that greater from a lot of other high-end creams/ serums. just keep in mind - i don't have ANY deep eye wrinkles, only minor crown feet and lots of smile related "wrinkles" - which were drastically diminished with concentrated serum. at $99 price is better than lets say la prairie - but i honestly don't feel that serum is enough moisture for me - so i am testing Valmont eye cream now - which i use on top of AQ eye serum - it's been only 2days - will update the post in few weeks!
I'd love to try AQ Eye Serum as it sounds like AQ might be even better than *gasp!* YBF Correct. Could it be true?
Hi Victoria,
Yes, when you use AQ, it is safe to put right on your lashline, and on your brows as well.
Hi Dilemma, I just want to mention that AQ is not based on a growth hormone. This is not a hormone based active, but a protein. Growth factors such as this really need something to repair, so unless you have deep wrinkles it isn't really appropriate for a 28 year old. I would strongly recommend an antioxidant based eye cream that has been formulated for prevention such as Your Best Face Refresh:
http://www.truthinaging.com/your-best-face-refresh
I can't seem to decide between this and Elite eye serum. Elite has a lot of good things going for it, whereas this has the growth hormone ingredient I'm really intrigued by. Which would you recommend for a 28 year old?
For those people who are reporting eyelash growth...are you using the serum right along your upper lid close to the lashes? I've been using it for a while, and also love it, but I don't put it right up next to my lash line. Should I be? Thanks for any input!
I can vouch for the eyelashes-I use it at night and in just over a week I can see eyelash growth. It is the real deal. I have tried CodeEi and Hydropeptide with no results at all after weeks...but this is really worthwhile. I could have ordered the eyelash one but this was cheaper. Is there any difference Marta?
Okay. Let me say this. I did NOT want to like this product or find it to be effective. It IS EFFECTIVE -- very VERY effective. However, that does not mean it's perfect and though I have, indeed, re-ordered it, there are two problems. I find it does not work well under concealer in the morning. It causes the make up to bead-up -- and, yes, the concealer is quite emollient and has not happened previously to using this serum. The other issue is that I find the packaging to be really problematic. I had thought I'd run out of my first bottle -- which surprised me as it was only after about 3 weeks (though, yes, I use it morning and night...but still.) I just discovered that the pump seems not to work and there was plenty of the product still in the bottle. But for nearly $100.00, that really shouldn't happen -- not to mention I wonder if the product will be compromised by unscrewing the top to use it twice a day. I wonder if anyone else has had that issue and what other people are finding in terms of daytime use. But, to be clear -- BIG difference with find lines, no question about it. (And, as everyone else has mentioned, eyelashes are re-appearing! A miracle!)
I'm still new to the product but so far so good! One question: Do I need to wear an eye moisturizer over the serum ? If so, would you recommend one that compliments the aq serum?
Thank you!
Kelly
I am about 3 weeks in, using this only at night as I am exceptionally dry in my under eye area, and using a balm during the day. Laugh lines are massively reduced, eye area is lifted and amazingly my eyelashes seem thicker. Devoted to this product.
All I can say is WOW!!!
I have used many eye serums and creams and AQ is the best I have used. It is well worth the money you spend and I have had several people ask me if I have had “some work” done. When I tell them what I am using they don’t believe me. The bonus is my sparce eyelashes appear to be getting longer and thicker. I received my samples in my Discover box and will hang on to them in case I run out or for traveling. A little goes a long way. I just don’t think I will ever use anything else now.
I can’t wait to compare this to the YBF Correct which has been sitting in my wish list forever.
After using the eye serum for a year, I stopped using under-eye concealer altogether. The skin beneath my eyes is firm and bright.
In addition to being a great, smoothing and firming eye serum, this makes your eyelashes grow. True story! Just using it as a regular eye cream, and my eyelashes are much longer and darker.
