Renowned NYC dermatologist Dr. Dennis Gross combines free-radical warrior ferulic acid with exfoliating retinol for a powerful duo that leaves skin plumper and with fewer wrinkles. Plus, this lightweight serum sinks in quickly, making a lovely base for makeup. Our reviewer found that this serum ticks every box on her eye serum wishlist. We invite you to try it yourself and see what she's talking about!
The namesake ingredients of this serum, ferulic acid and retinol, aren't the only notable components in this formula! Licorice root extract brightens the look of dark circles and under-eye puffiness, while caffeine provides instant firming effect. You can feel great using this serum because, like all Dr. Dennis Gross products, it's cruelty free, vegan and paraben free.
Tested for 30 days and reviewed by Vickie:
You’ve probably heard that “eyes are the windows to the soul,” but the old cliché should really be they are “windows to display how well we take care of ourselves over the years.” I often ignored my eyes, treating them the same as the rest of my mid-forties skin with whatever product I had on hand. From sleeping in makeup early on to rubbing, squinting in the sun, too much salt, not enough water, the list goes on. It’s no wonder the delicate skin around our eyes suffer from dryness, wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness. It’s only been recently that I’ve begun to pay attention. I started to worry that it might be too late for change until Truth In Aging allowed me to review Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum.
If you are a regular visitor to Truth In Aging, then you are in the know. You understand the importance of retinol for cell turnover to help smooth skin. This vitamin A is in many products, but not all are equal. Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum also contains ferulic acid, an organic antioxidant found in the seeds of coffee, nuts, seeds and fruits that provides sun damage protection. Combined with the exfoliation of retinol, ferulic acid effectively helps to firm and smooth out the dreaded crepiness. In addition to this dynamic duo, Bearberry extract, a natural hydroquinone alternative, brightens the skin to reduce hyperpigmentation. Just what my poor neglected windows need.
After a month of using the serum each morning and night, I certainly felt it. The serum is a silky gel texture and glides easily over the skin to soak right in. About a couple of weeks of use, the skin under my eyes felt temporarily sensitive when taking my eye makeup off (one bad habit conquered). This makes sense since the serum includes ingredients like salicylic acid (BHA), AHA glycolic acid, and mandelic acid that gently support exfoliation. Since its fragrance and paraben free, I did not have negative reactions. Any irritation from rubbing was gone within moments.
Other ingredients like licorice root extract and caffeine help combat puffiness, although I only noticed very minor improvements here (more bad lifestyle habits to work on). The best result for me was a reduction in fine lines, improvement in brightness, and my concealer went on nicely in the morning. Now if I can just cut back on sodium in my diet and get more sleep, these peepers of mine might have a greater chance to hide my age for a while longer.

FINALLY - HOLY GRAIL!! I'm 65 yrs old with nearly complete loss of elasticity, crepey, dehydrated eyelids (upper and lower), also sensitive. At my age, I've tried nearly every eye product (except E'shee Alpha Beta) and have never seen any results - at all - other than superficial, temporary moisturization. I would've never tried this product on my own, but an esthetician used it on me in a demo and sent me home with a trial. LOVE happened, because after a few days, my undereye dehydration-related elasticity improvement was incredible ("pinch" test: BEFORE starting usage of this eye serum, it took over 45 seconds for my undereye skin to partially move back into position. AFTER 3 days of 2X daily usage of the serum, - my skin moved immediately back into position. Before and After tests were done after cleansing and before any product application). Somehow this eye serum is able to penetrate and effectively deliver ingredients to rehydrate - I am amazed since this has never happened before with any other products. Am hoping for long term improvements to undereye skin density and overall firmness, structure. First retinol product I've ever been able to use around my eyes. I do need to apply a moisturizing product on top of the serum. Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Eye Balm works great on top and contains that Sederma "BeautifEye" ingredient supposed to help with lifting. After 3 weeks, my overall look with makeup is improved tremendously.
Hey guys I had Left a review on this product but It has not been posted yet which is good. I do believe this is a good product but I used way too much and got a small chemical burn went to the derm this morning and she told me they were very good product's and that I used to much and that with sensitive skin. She told me to start out slow like twice a week and work my way up. I am truly sorry I gave a bad review on a product that did not deserve it. I am looking forward to using this product later but be frugal and I think the results will be great. Thanks
Received a sample of this product with my last order and was shocked to find I loved it. It's a clear, odorless, slippery gel. I do not purchase products with chemical exfoliants such as retinols because I do not use products with sunscreen (or even really sunglasses, because I wear glasses) and yet I am hoarding every last drop of my little sample packet (which has been going strong for a few weeks now). I can't speak to its long term efficacy but I see an immediate reduction in dark circles and puffiness and it feels so pleasant to put on - moisturizing but never oily and it sinks in immediately. It never stings and the tiniest bit of product goes a long way because the product has decent slip to it. There's a little bit of a sticky feeling immediately after application but it fades quickly. Recently I have not been using a separate product around my eyes, just my regular moisturizer/serum and seemed none the worse for it, but it will be hard to give this up when my sample finally runs out.
Having tested this eye serum for almost six weeks, here are my impressions. I loved the “slip” of this product; it is neither a traditional gel, nor a liquid serum, more like the consistency of a liquid gel. It dries down to a natural finish, without a greasy look/feel, or a pulling/tightening feeling. My concealer, which I sadly still need, went on without pilling or streaking, which is sometimes a problem with layering concealer over many eye products. I also observed a reduction of crepiness on my upper lid. I did not notice any de-puffing or brightening of my under-eye area. Crow’s feet? Perhaps a slight reduction, but there was a significant bonus not touted by any of the literature: this product has made my eyelashes grow! And not only grow, it has regenerated growth of dormant follicles. I actually have new lashes growing in. But wait, there’s more: I think I see new growth on the outer corners of my eyebrows, which have noticeably thinned in recent years. I love unintended consequences when they are beneficial!
In summary, I liked many things about this product. I will finish the bottle and hope for even more visible improvements. Sometimes it takes a little longer for the full effects of a product to “work their magic” on those of us who are 60+. I am happy to have had the opportunity to review this product and hope my observations are of value .
