I’m in my 50s with dry sensitive skin and a fair/freckled complexion. I’m developing more lines and wrinkles, deepening nasolabial folds and fine lip lines… ugh! I am most bothered by the lines around my mouth and on my forehead; they feel the most “aging” to me. The crow’s feet somehow aren’t as marked.

I tested Goldfaden MD Wake Up Call ($80) with the hopes of “super-overnight hydration” and no greasy sensation on my face as I hit the pillow. I avoid fragrances and I appreciate products that are readily absorbed and light on my face. This product promised to be an overnight creamy facial moisturizer that “redefines the skin’s texture and improves the appearance of photo-damaged skin, leaving skin supple, plump and hydrated.” Ingredients include a variety of rejuvenating and firming elements including: CoQ10, DMAE, alpha lipoic acid, retinol, organic red tea, vitamin E, avocado and grape seed oils.

I used Wake Up Call nightly after cleansing my face and neck. As directed, I applied it with upward strokes and found it to be a rich but not cloying creamy texture. It easily dispensed from the pump, without clogging. (Another thing I look for is the ease of dispensing, without a mess or that annoying “clump blockage” that can happen with some products.)

This soft white cream absorbed quickly without feeling sticky or leaving any residue, which would have been unpleasant for me. There was a very mild, light and fresh fragrance but it was extremely gentle and didn’t irritate my skin. As a person that only uses unscented products, I was pleasantly surprised that this was not an issue at all. It is indeed very rich and hydrating, and I found it well suited for my dry (and often “tight-feeling”) delicate English skin!

I would definitely recommend this product as a great overnight moisturizer and facial nourishing treatment for dry and aging skin. It is a good addition to a regular cleansing and moisturizing regimen. My face and neck felt significantly hydrated in the mornings after use (more so than with just a regular moisturizer alone) and I do notice a lessening of the tight feeling I often experience in my face with winter exposure and temperature changes at this time of year. The product is supposed to have skin-soothing benefits, and I have experienced that with continued use. The lines above my mouth and forehead also look a little less pronounced and visible to me. A thumbs up for this product!
