I recently tested the MD Solar Sciences Mineral Lotion ($34 in the shop). It is meant for face and body and is a broad spectrum SPF 50 UVA/UVB sunscreen. I have a convertible-top car, so sun protection is important to me, and I wear it faithfully every day. This product did supply excellent protection from burning and did not come off with sweat. It had the added benefit of leaving my skin feeling soft for the remainder of the day.
The formula was developed by dermatologic oncologist, and titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are the active mineral ingredients. It is also enhanced with ProVention-R, a proprietary blend of antioxidants, skin lighteners and hydrators. This made me feel good about putting this on my skin. Instructions say to reapply after 80 minutes of water exposure and at least every two hours of exposure.
All of this was very positive and I should have loved this product – except that it was not a good fit for me. I am almost 50 and my arms have age spots and wrinkly skin. This product is thick like toothpaste and difficult to spread over large areas of skin. It also left a white residue in every tiny crevice of my skin that looked as if I put white powder on my arms and attempted to wipe it off with a towel. It was much better to use on my face, which has smoother skin.
So the bottom line is that this is a product that lives up to all the good things it promises. You must decide for yourself if having a natural product that keeps you safe from the sun as well as leaving your skin soft is worth taking a bit more time to spread it on.

Thank you Marta! :) It's very weather appropriate, or at least will be in a couple of months!
That explains it. I'd love to try a sample of this. Also recently purchased some Suntegrity Body, looking forward to trying it as well... I currently use Invisible Zinc Face + Body, which protects very well, but is v. thick and leaves my olive skin visibly white.

Hi Summerstorms (what a nice nom de plume!) somewhere along the way, the formula got changed. I have the old one and it is light and silky. We are getting some samples in and customer service will let you know when we have them.

There are a couple of TIA reviews of this product, but one review (Christine's) says it's light and silky while this one says it is the opposite. Bummer. I was about to purchase this product based on Christine's review. I am very active and am looking for a zinc oxide based sunscreen for my body during the Aussie hot summer that isn't *quite* as difficult to make it go on or leave my olive skin white.
Has anyone else tried this sunscreen?

May leave white residue? No, it will. Especially on hands. The good news is that it doesn't roll at all, which is far more important to me. I also love the addition of tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate. Thanks for an honest review, Kathy!
