Transderma R Resveratrol Serum
by Transderma
Transderma R reduces pigmentation through its active ingredients, trans-resveratrol and piceid, some of nature’s most efficient antioxidants. The serum, which also has vitamin C, evens out skin tone, lightens dark spots and uneven pigmentation, and gives the skin a beautiful luster. Transderma R protects against oxidative stress and UV damage and has a soothing effect on the skin. Formulated without water, the actives are undiluted and potent. Like all products in the Truth In Aging store, Transderma R has been tested by the Truth In Aging community so that you can be sure it works.

I have heard that resveratrol can help even out skin tone and fade dark spots and so I was eager to volunteer to test Transderma R Resveratrol Serum ($175 in the shop). I have what you might call weathered skin from years (I am 51) of an outdoor lifestyle. I am also not a great fan of retinols and so I was hoping to find an alternative that would help me get more even-toned skin.
Transderma’s products have been reviewed by Marta and other members of the Truth In Aging community and all have remarked on the amazingly minimalist formulas without water and with only a handful of ingredients. Transderma R has vitamin C, resveratrol and piceid and that’s really it.
Before embarking on this test, I hadn’t heard of piceid. I now know that it is a form of resveratrol, which in turn is an antioxidant that is found in red wine. The Transderma website points out that these ingredients do not work if take as supplements and should be used in a topical cream.
I am writing this review after five weeks of testing. While I don’t think I’ll ever have creamy, let alone porcelain skin, my complexion is now much less ruddy. Some “shadowing”, probably technically milasma, is starting to fade. I do have a couple of darker spots and I am hoping that with more time they will start to fade as well.
Transderma R is not moisturizer and when I tried it on its own, I found it a little drying. Most people will need to use it with a moisturizer or a serum that they find hydrating. I experienced no irritation whatsoever. That, and the fact that I am seeing results leads me to recommend Transderma R to anyone looking for a retinol alternative.

Clean and dry skin well, then smooth a few drops of Transderma R over face and neck and allow to absorb completely before using another Transderma serum or any other type of skincare product (makeup, sunscreen, etc). Use once or twice a day. If used morning only, a retinol can also be used at night.

Thank you for reviewing for us Roz. I've been trying it out for just under 3 weeks so far. I agree - overall skin tone is really looking clearer; no irritation. Very little is needed - just a couple of drops. It absorbs very rapidly and I top up with another serum or moisturizer
