Your Best Face Control has been an iconic serum since Truth In Aging opened its community curated store. Over the years, founder and chief formulator, Darrell Owens, has tweaked the ingredients, but the latest iteration takes Control into a different league. This is truly a hero product.
My initial impression was love at first sight. The silky texture makes this serum a pleasure to use. It feels lux and somehow very modern. There is nothing extraneous in this formula - everything here has a job to do and these heavy hitting actives come with amazing pedigrees. They address sun damage, loss of brightness and luster and skin that’s started to sag.
With the new 1.7oz bottle without a price hike, I feel I can be generous with my applications: the face, neck and decolette, morning, night or both. The impressive collection of skin nurturing peptides and brightening antioxidants include Relistase™, Matrixyl® Synthe’6™, Matrixyl™ 3000, Syn®-Tacks and, of course, YBF’s signature spin trap. We are talking firming, anti-wrinkle and prevention.
There are a couple of other special actives that are worth a shout out. Homeostatine is a moisturizing and regenerating agent made from a complex of two botanicals (from a seaweed and an Andean tree). It has a double molecular structure meaning that it can penetrate the epidermis and work on the skin’s outer layer. I was interested to discover that it also boosts the anti-aging effect of red LED light.
Pterostilbene is a derivative of resveratrol that is said to be more potent, not least because it is better absorbed. It is the primary antioxidant in blueberries (source).
YBF Control is an all-round, go-to in my anti-aging arsenal.

I am loving this newly re-formed product. I like the feel of it even better than their prior products! I can wear this over a toner during the day, followed by a light touch of a tinted spf moisturizer and have a great level of hydration. (or at night etc.). I am really happy with this product!
Just about a month in and with the arrival of colder and drier weather I am very pleased with its performance. I specifically noted its brightening and firming qualities, and found my skin feeling elastic and looking – well, dewy….not a word that usually comes to mind over 60.
