I'm in my late 40s, and it had been more than 30 years since I last used a facial cleansing bar. Through experience, I discovered a preference for cleansing milks and creams; I found they suited my sensitive skin better and were easier to use.

When Truth In Aging asked me if I wanted to try the Blissoma Clean Smooth & Sensitive Facial Cleansing Bar ($12.85), I was very interested. I had tried other Blissoma products and enjoyed them, so I was curious to try a bar after all these years.

The bar seemed so small! I thought for sure it wouldn’t last the month, but I was wrong! It’s pretty compact and has lasted the month despite my using it twice a day AND having my 13-year-old son use it on his face, too! He has very sensitive skin like his mom and really enjoyed using it. While in the shower one day, my husband even used it, and he swore it softened his beard prior to shaving. I was sure to hide the bar after that conversation.

The scent of the bar is lovely and calming, and it cleansed my skin beautifully. At first, I wasn’t sure if it would remove makeup, but it sure did. Post cleansing, my skin felt calm, clean, soft and never dry, tight or irritated. What I like about this product is that it can also be used on the body and feels so comforting.

While it’s difficult to think of anything I didn’t love about this bar, if I had to have one, it’s that I would have loved a tray to hold the soap. Using a bar requires a bit more care, since you must make sure it’s not sitting in a pool of water after use and that it’s exposed to air on the top and bottom. I totally recommend Blissoma Clean Smooth and Sensitive Facial Cleansing Bar not just for not just sensitive skin but for every skin type.
