Since reaching my 50s, I have noticed that my hair has started to recede, especially around the hair line. I have been desperately in need of some good hair repair product. When I saw that Truth in Aging came out with its new Hair Vitality Complex ($49 in the shop), I immediately asked Marta to send me a sample to try. I’ve been disappointed many times about hair products. Most of them have too many chemicals in their formula and feel very greasy on my hair. Many simply do not deliver good results.

I have to admit that I am a regular follower of Truth in Aging and am impressed with everything that this company does: Marta never stops surprising me with her intelligence and knowledgeable advice about all that’s going on in a complicated modern world of beauty. I also have to admit that it’s not so easy to impress me since I am a product formulator myself and a practicing clinical esthetician with more than 25 of years of experience. During my life, I’ve tried so many skin care products. Recently, my quest has been to find a good hair line since almost all of my clients complain about hair loss. So I started my testing process with a very positive feeling, with a hope that I could not only use this product for myself, but also recommend it to my clients.

I tested the product for a couple of weeks and here is what I want to share with all of you.

The formula: The product formula has a very light gel consistency and never leaves a greasy residue on your hair after application. It dries immediately and leaves a very pleasant, silky feel. The great thing is that you can use it anytime you want and if you blow-dry your hair or have thin, fine and slightly wavy hair like myself, it will not make it flat or frizzy. Another positive is that the serum is aroma free. Sometimes I hesitate to use certain hair products since so many of them have very strong perfumes and occasionally unpleasant aromas that stay with you all day long.

Ingredients: For me, the ingredients are the most important part of the product. This hair serum contains copper peptides as one of its active ingredients. Dr. Loren Pickart, who is a leading expert in studying the effects of copper peptides on hair growth (she has been studying copper peptides for over two decades), concluded that this ingredient inhibits the production of a hormone that promotes hair loss and enlarged hair follicles, encouraging growth. His research also proved that copper peptides can thicken hair, increase hair-follicle size, and regenerate skin on the scalp, creating a healthier environment for hair growth. Besides containing results-driven active ingredients, the Truth in Aging formula does not use any harsh preservatives. It uses radish root ferment, which is one of the safest preservation systems in the natural skin and hair industry today.

Packaging: For me, the functionality of the product actually starts with packaging. I do not care so much about complicated and overdone packaging that tries to impress me. It should be simple to use and functional. Hair Vitality Complex is packaged in a very lovely pump-operated bottle. It is super easy to use and product will never get wasted since the pump works very efficiently.

Results: I did not see any results for the first week. This was expected because the hair growth cycle is a very complicated and time-consuming process. But after a week, I noticed baby hair growth around my hair line and some of my fuzzy hair looked visibly stronger. I only had enough product for a couple of weeks and I am absolutely sure that I would see more positive results with the continued use of this serum.

Conclusion: This product is one of the first in a massive hair market industry with a mission to improve the health of the hair only with safe and scientifically proven ingredients. It repairs the damaged follicles and stimulates new hair growth. It’s a one-of-a-kind nutritional complex that promotes healthy and damage-free hair. I highly recommend it for everyone at any age, but especially for women who experience hair loss due to hormonal changes. It might take a few weeks to see real results and you probably should use the product on a regular basis. But you won’t feel guilty spending too much on your hair – it’s very affordable!
