I have used and been impressed with several Michael Todd products, and I was thrilled to be chosen to review the Michael Todd Liposome Antiox Moisturizer ($29). I really like that Michael Todd products are mostly organic, and I appreciate the clear labeling that some products are vegan and/or gluten free. I also love that they have never tested their products on animals.

The sample I received was a full-sized product and was well-packaged. I first paid attention to the packaging — it is in a pump type container. While I was happy that it was not a jar (as that type of packaging can be unhygienic), pumps are also somewhat problematic as one can rarely get all of the moisturizer out. This particular pump is not removable so there is no chance of turning the package on its head to get the last of the moisturizer — and you will want to do so.

My first impressions weren’t overwhelmingly positive. I’m 49 years old with sensitive, combination skin. I battle stubborn milia and some blackheads, and I have the occasional minor breakout. The statement “for all skin types except oily” concerned me. And at first, I found the smell to be a bit mediciny, and the texture felt a bit greasy. However, I’d committed to using this product twice per day for four weeks — and I’m glad I did! It turns out that my partner liked the smell, and after a couple of days, I did too. Now I find it quite nice — and SO much better than highly-fragranced moisturizers. My skin absorbed the moisturizer quickly and was not tacky to the touch. In fact. my skin felt soft and smooth within minutes. I was pleasantly surprised because this moisturizer definitely improved the texture and appearance of my skin. It did not cause any break-outs, increase in blackheads, or milia. In fact, I believe my skin looks better now than it has in a long time.

The Michael Todd website notes this is “a soothing cream moisturizer made with organic ingredients and liposomes to transport antioxidants deep into the skin to restore and maintain healthy skin, counteract sun damage and fight premature skin aging and wrinkles.” I would agree that my skin looks lovely and healthy, but I can’t vouch for the fighting aging and wrinkles, as I saw no change in that regard.

Overall, I’m very happy I gave this moisturizer a chance, and I’m pleased to recommend Michael Todd Liposome Antiox Moisturizer.
