I am 59 years old and am concerned about both fine lines and dryness with my skin. I was excited to try and review the Skinfinite Advanced C20+ Serum ($65 in the shop). The product arrived in a sleek white and silver one-ounce bottle with a pump dispenser.
The directions were to use this serum one to two times a week. I have used vitamin C products for many years and was comfortable using this product a little more frequently, at three or four times a week. The Skinfinite website additionally suggests using this product with a derma roller.
The serum itself is very watery, and I found it was best applied by pumping a small amount in my palm and applying it with my fingers. The first time I used this, I experienced a mild stinging sensation. The product left a tacky, sticky feeling on my skin, which was a drawback. I tried using a little less product during each application to see if it made a difference, but it did not. I used the serum at night and tried using a moisturizer over it, but it made the tacky, sticky feeling worse, so I stopped using any moisturizer at night.
Several weeks after I began my trial, I realized my skin felt comfortable — not dry or oily. My esthestician remarked that my skin looked toned and balanced and told me that whatever I was using to keep it up. I feel that overall this is a good, affordable vitamin C product which also contains hyaluronic acid, ferulic acid and phloretin. The product made my skin feel great; if it weren't for the sticky feeling on my skin, I would consider purchasing.
