Snowberry New Radiance Face Serum ($46/1 oz) is the newest offering from this New Zealand-based company. According to its website, Snowberry products contain none of the potentially harmful petrochemicals, sulphates, artificial coloring, silicones, or glycols found in many skin care products, nor does Snowberry use parabens for its product preservative system. They do, however, contain natural oils and bioactives to promote skin renewal and regeneration.
Snowberry New Radiance Face Serum is formulated with copper peptides which stimulate the immune system when skin is damaged, initiating the healing process. Through the continuous restoration of the skin’s barrier function, copper peptides help maintain the clarity and strength seen in youthful skin. The New Radiance Face Serum combines copper tripeptide 1 with sodium hyaluronate and glycerin to both moisturize and hydrate, while helping combat free radicals and stimulate collagen. The simple ingredient list includes mostly demineralized water, glycerin from coconut, sodium hyaluronate, and witch hazel, with nothing undesirable.
The serum is clear with a gel-like consistency and contains just a hint of fragrance. It glides over the skin effortlessly, absorbs immediately, and leaves no tacky or sticky feeling. The directions say to spread a thin layer of the product over the face and neck, morning and night after cleansing. I use the serum for eight weeks as directed. Two pea-size pumps covered my entire face and neck, and the bottle lasted me a little over my eight week trial. I found the serum to be gentle and it played well with other products, even around the delicate eye area.
I saw no noticeable difference with Snowberry New Radiance Face Serum until well into my fourth week, so I decided to continue my use of the product in hopes of further results. Alas, I am disappointed to say that there were no further results. At the four week mark, my skin did seem to have a bit more clarity around the cheeks. So would I buy the product? No, the results were not enough for me to spend my limited beauty bucks on. The product says it’s designed for all skin types, but perhaps my 48-year-young face is not a suitable candidate.
I am a big fan of other Snowberry products such as the Every Day SPF 15 - Broad Spectrum Sun Protection ($36 in the store) and the Gentle Remineralising Toner ($53 in the store) and am grateful they cater to purists like myself. Sadly though, this serum just did not work for me.
