Arcona White Tea Purifying Cleanser is a gentle facial cleanser packed with antioxidants to cleanse skin and remove makeup while shrinking the appearance of pores and leaving skin moisturized. With a natural foaming agent and plenty of skin-quenching conditioning agents, this delightful cleanser delivers the clean feeling you get from a traditional foaming face wash without the harsh chemicals. This product wastested for 30 days and approved by our reviewer, who loved the refreshed feeling Arcona's cleanser gave her skin. That means you can try it yourself knowing it works.

Some cleansers strip skin and leave it parched, while others don't remove all of the impurities of the day. Arcona strikes the perfect balance of hydrating and clarifying with shea butter right alongside aloe in the ingredients list. This soothing cleanser also helps calm troubled skin and balance skin's natural pH with soothing yucca, vitamin E and aloe extracts.

TIA Review by Michelle:
A good cleanser should keep your skin slightly acidic and moisturized. Arcona’s White Tea Purifying Cleanser hits the mark with both. Moisturizing ingredients like shea butter and glycerin are combined with aloe saponins and decyl glucoside, which deliver soap-free foaming action as well as antiseptic properties. Like other Arcona products, the cleanser is packed with antioxidants from yucca, white tea, raspberry and cranberry. The acidity in grapefruit, lemon, lime and pineapple extracts help keep skin’s pH balance and provide a dose of vitamin C as well. The ingredients are natural and low-toxicity, which made me quite happy! However, being persnickety as I am, I would love it if the ingredient list included all or even some organic ingredients. However, unless you insist on 100% organic products, it’s a very minor critique.

The Arcona cleanser is a relatively simple list of natural ingredients, and they work. A pea-sized dollop of the cleanser is all you need to cleanse face and neck. The first time I used it I noticed how much softer my skin felt, and even through the cold and windy winter, my face has never felt tight or dry. The description on the bottle promises to leave the face “poreless and refreshed.” While I can’t really say my visible pores are gone, they are looking better. And it does cleanse quite well —I use coconut oil to remove my mascara, and the Arcona cleanser did cut through the oil’s residue without drying, and it removed makeup (except for waterproof mascara) well. It does just the right amount of cleansing; effective, but not harsh.

Will it work miracles? Most likely not by itself—but can anyone really expect a cleanser to solve every skin issue? My problem skin still had occasional breakouts despite the overall tone of my skin being better. In the case of Arcona’s White Tea Purifying Cleanser, the real value lies in having a quality non-drying cleanser to create a healthy skin base for any serums and products you might be using. All the pricey potions in the world won’t do their work well if you’re counteracting them by stripping your skin with harsh detergents.

Our Take...

A quality cleanser is the base of any good skincare regimen. A cleanser’s job is to remove makeup, environmental toxins, and dirt without stripping the skin of its natural acid mantle – the slightly acidic thin layer of sebum and perspiration that keeps bacteria out and moisture in. I am new to natural products and I love Arcona's white tea purifying cleanser. It smells wonderful, has a soft, luxurious lather and leaves my skin feeling clean without the dryness I've gotten from other cleansers. At 52, I still have combination skin and frequent breakouts, but have had NONE since using this cleanser for 3 weeks. I'm using several of Arcona's products and love them all!

I love the Arcona white tea purifying cleanser for several reasons. One, I can remove all my makeup with it, whether it be mineral or cream based, or mascara. It's so awesome finding a cleanser which doubles as a cleanser and makeup remover that doesn't dry your skin out! The smell is nice and somewhat fruity, the ingredients are clean, and it lathers well. I have seen a definite improvement in my acne breakouts while using this cleanser. I should add, that I also use it with my clarisonic. I have gone thru approx 3 bottles and plan on continuing to purchase.

  • Great, thank you!

  • Hi Meena, it isn't actually true that most antiodixants break down when exposed to light. There are a few that do, specifically vitamin C. There is nothing here to worry about.

I love the ingredients and love the fact that it lathers without soap! Only 4 stars because the pump is not the most reliable and as Marta mentioned, it is not as moisturising as I hoped even with the shea butter. That's ok though since I put my products on soon after. The lather makes it extremely easy to use with my clarisonic and I use it for at least two minutes. I read that many antioxidants need at least 1 minute to bind to the skin, otherwise it would seem to be a waste of such great ingredients. My make up comes off clean and my skin feels fresh and ready for whatever's next. I use this wash as my daily night and morning routine when I'm not using a treatment wash.

I do have a concern and was hoping TIA could be of help. I know many antioxidants breakdown when exposed to light and air and even though this seems to be in an airless pump, it is still in a transparent bottle. Did you have any information on this or direct me to an article that may have been published already? I'm very paranoid and even go as far as chilling my products in a mini-mini fridge on my vanity...but really hope not to do that with a wash I like to keep next to the bathroom sink.

I love the Arcona Purifying Cleanser because it, removes all my makeup, even mascara, isn't drying to my skin, helps clear breakouts, smells delicious, is full of great ingredients, lasts for months and works perfect with my Clarisonic.

I absolutely love this cleanser- definitely one of my favs! It smells delicious, lathers well, removes all my makeup, even mascara, and really cleans. I use it 2x day with my clarisonic. I have acne prone skin and although it contains shea butter and oils, it has never aggravated or caused breakouts. However, even with the shea and oils, I would not call this a moisturizing cleanser; nor is it drying-it's in the middle.

I am extremely picky about what I wash my face with and I loved the Arcona White Tea Purifying Cleanser. You don’t have to use much to get a really nice lather. It smells divine and feels very luxurious on my face. It really does deliver on it’s promise of leaving the face feeling “poreless and refreshed”. I use this day and night followed by my normal moisturizer (and sunscreen). I have very dry skin and usually when I wash my face I’m reaching (as fast as I can) for my moisturizer as soon as I’ve dried my face. With this Arcona product, I don’t feel that rush – it leaves my face feeling moisturized. 5 stars!

I have been trying out this cleanser and I appreciate its cleansing abilities and love the anti-aging ingredients. The only downside is that it is a little drying for my skin and I will be saving it for warmer, more humid weather

    Thanks for the answers Michelle.
I prefer gel cleansers so this sounds perfect for me as well as a good value!

Hi all! Thanks so much for the kind remarks. I am still enjoying the remainder of my bottle of Arcona cleanser! I've grown quite fond of it. :)

To answer your question Vicky - the bottle I received was a 2 ounce bottle, which I started at the end of January and I still have enough to easily make it through the end of March. So a little goes a VERY long way! The bottle TIA is carrying in the shop is 3.6 oz... so it should last you quite long - probably 6 months!

It is a gel cleanser. I've used many kinds of cleansers - cream, bar, gel - and I like this one quite a lot. For me cream cleansers have been hit or miss, and Bars have always created havoc -although now I really want to try Arcona's cleansing bar!

Excellent review Michelle. Glad to have the refresher on skin pH. I think some cleansers depend on a persons use of toner for pH balance rather than the cleansers formulation.

    A couple of questions:
How many ounces in the bottle?
Is this cleanser more gel like than creamy? Thanks!
