TIA Review by Nisha:
The latest evolution in multifunctional skincare from Asia to hit the U.S. is CC creams. This is the next generation to the all-in-one BB cream (aka blemish balm), which merges skincare and makeup. Whereas a BB cream is primer, sunscreen, skin brightener and anti-ager all in one; a CC cream adds color correction to the multitasking list. CC creams provide more coverage, protection, hydration and skin-nourishing ingredients than their predecessor BB cream. As of this writing, there are only a few color-correcting creams in the U.S. and Juice Beauty’s Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream is the only organic CC cream on the market.

The CC cream is part of Juice Beauty’s Stem Cellular Repair collection and contains the same proprietary blend of fruit stem cells found in the Repair Booster Serum. Like the serum (which serves as nice primer to the CC cream), the cream’s base is a signature blend of apple, grape, lemon and aloe juices that promote skin rejuvenation. Hydrating ingredients include caprylic/capric triglycerides, hyaluronic acid, organic sunflower seed, and jojoba oils. Free-radical protection is provided by the network antioxidants vitamin C (in MAP form) and E. Magnesium sulfate serves as a natural anti-inflammatory and ethylhexylglycerin is a natural preservative. Some might be sensitive to the inclusion of essential oils.

A highlight of this all organic cream is the high mineral based broad spectrum protection of SPF 30 from zinc oxide. As noted in smart sunscreen shopping, zinc oxide is the best and safest sunscreen ingredient. However, there is some debate surrounding the use of of it nanoparticle size due to potential skin penetration, thus “micronized” zinc is best to use. Juice Beauty uses a whopping 20% concentration of non-nano, micronized zinc oxide. However, don’t let the high percentage of the mineral content deceive you into thinking it’ll leave the usual tell-tale chalky white mask. This is a color correcting cream after all and is highly pigmented using iron oxides, known to be safe as they are non-toxic, non-bleeding and moisture resistant. There are also no studies showing them to be allergens or irritants; thus, they are considered ideal substitutes for ferrous or ferric oxide.

A common complaint of BB creams is that although the shades are meant to be “universal” they generally don’t work well on darker skin tones. Juice Beauty’s CC cream is available in two shades: natural glow and warm glow. I have medium dark skin and the warm glow shade blends perfectly with my skin tone, providing just the amount of coverage I like and indeed gives skin a “warm glow.” Per Juice Beauty, the shade blends with even the darkest skin tones. Unlike silicone-loaded BB creams, it has a light mousse-like texture and goes on easily. The cream feels like a light moisturizer that disappears into skin and it’s easy to forget I'm wearing it.

Juice Beauty’s Stem Cellular Repair CC cream is in a category of its own. As the only organic CC cream on the market, there’s a lot to like in the formulation, which contains a multitude of skin beneficial ingredients at an outstanding price point.

I like everything about this product in theory--especially the ingredients. But I was turned off by the grass-y smell of it, the the too-thick texture, and the slight shine it left on my face. I might give this another try in the future if the formulation is improved.

I love this product. I use it all the time. So do my adult daughters. I try to use minimal make up on my skin in general because I like to let my skin breathe and to let the beautiful creams and serums that I use take effect without too much layering over them. Nonetheless a little glaze of color to even out the skin tone is appreciated and I find that for most week days, the tint in this product is enough for my overall face, neck & décolletage. It does go on a little thick, but it spreads well. I am fair skinned and definitely need sunblock to help against age spots and sun damage, I really appreciate that it is a sunblock that I can use that does not clog my skin. Another huge plus for me is that this line is plant based!

hmmm... seems to cause my skin to breakout. This is unfortunate because otherwise a great product. It really makes my skin quite soft and is such a multi-tasker.

I've been using this cream for 2 - 3 weeks now and I love it! I had been looking for a BB or CC cream that doesn't contain silicones (which make me break out) so I decided to try this. I used powder foundations for years but the powder now settles into fine lines and isn't flattering on me anymore.

First I apply the Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum, then this CC cream, and then I finish off my base with the Juice Beauty Finishing Powder. My skin really looks great! I still need to use concealer on a couple acne scars but my skin tone really looks great. For reference, I have light skin and use the natural glow shade and the color is perfect.

I'm a big fan of Juice Beauty, and a fan of this product too, but I would say that it has a lot less coverage/pigment than most BB creams I've tried (and I've tried a lot). I think of it like one of those products that sort of soft-focuses imperfections, but it will not hide them. I love the texture, though

As a person with dark complexion it is often difficult to get a good sunsceen which will not leave a noticeable white cast on the skin (because it makes you look grey and sickly).
So I decided to try this product out because it had spf + some tinting which I had hoped would combat any white cast effect. After using for a few months now, I would have to say it is not my favourite item. The cosistancy of the product is thick so you have to be very careful when using it. If you put even a little more than you need, you'll get that greying effect though the product has tinting (actually even if you the right amount on, the greying is still noticeable). Another negative is the scent. The product has a lemon/orange tree leave scent, which I dislike (but this could simply be me).
The only positive I would say is the product lasts a while....
Basically my verdict is, I will be glad when this product runs out and i can get a new spf ...I definitely will not be getting this product a second time.

I think that this is a great product and very well priced. I buy it for both myself and my adult daughters. We have been really happy with it. I am extremely active and do a lot of outdoors activity, and I also teach movement and I find that this product does not rub off when I am very active. I also like the tint in this, which provides just a hint of cover to even out skin tone. For day this works for me as I find it more subtle than foundation. I find the level of spf perfectly effective for most of my outdoor activities.

This is a great cream. It has evened out my skin tone and has definitely helped with the redness around my nose and checks. I hardly need to use any concealer on those areas after I apply the cream. It does not accentuate fine lines or wrinkles and if anything, helps to diminish the fine lines. I bought the natural glow and the warm glow might be a better match for me, but I am happy with the natural glow. There isn't much pigment to it and is sheer coverage, but I really like the way this looks on my face. I have combination, oily skin and this product does feel a bit greasy on my face if I wear it alone. I also have the Juice Beauty refinishing powder and applying this over the CC cream is a great combination. The powder takes the greasy feel away and controls the oily-ness around my t-zone all day. The CC cream is an amazing product and highly recommend.

  • I do not care for the scent, it is strange and hard to explain. Very thick formula that is hard to blend/smooth over the skin. It has a strange off white beige color when you first put it on but it eventually blended into my skin. Honestly for a CC cream I have tried many others that far exceed this product. Not sure what the hype is all about.

Love this product for all the reasons mentioned above. I'd add that I go through periods of eczema on my face, and I'm delighted to report that it seems to help with that. It helps with it so much that I commit the sin of sleeping with it on, because if I don't my skin its itchy overnight.

Living in Florida requires sunscreen and I have used many types, liquid and powder. Juice Beauty CC Cream is the first I love, love. It not only is a sunscreen but a wonderful light foundation and moisturizer in one. I have used about half the tube, I must say a little goes along way, even though I am sure I use more than necessary. I have noticed a more even skin tone and since I do not use moisturizer on a regular basis this definetely does the job. Most CC or BB creams with sunscreen tend to be on the greasy side. Juice Beauty seems to be more of a moisturizer with a little shine. Some days I need shine and other days I use a little powder for a matte look. The color, natural glow is great for fair complexions. Finally a multi tasker that actually works and is organic. Thank you Juice Beauty my search is over.

This CC cream is the ultimate in a multi tasking product! I just purchased my second tube and never plan to be without it. I use the Natural Glow and that is exactly how it enhances my skin with a natural glow. It does not settle into fine lines around my eyes but actually diminishes their appearance. It is loaded with beneficial ingredients that work in a cumulative way to improve my skin's appearance. The chemical free SPF 30 is effective and all I need on normal days. On days I am outside all day I layer it over either Snowberry SPF 15 or HydroPeptide SPF 30. I was previously using Juice Beauty Tinted Mineral Moisturizer and really like it but the CC is now my fave! Awesome product!

I must say: wow! This is an excelent product. It hydrates sooooo good, evens out the skin tone very unnoticeably and offers sun protection at the same time. Even the fine lines all over the face (which are starting to show) somewhat disappear from sight - but not because of coverage, but the ingedients. My dry skin is feeling so much better now. I was a bit concerned when ordering since there are just two tones available, but I was positively surprised. Probably it would even function well with the lighter shade - I would just look more "naturally" pale. That said, I should also mention that my skin is not problematic and looks quite well and this is a perfect product for light coverage - it gives off a natural look. Some pimples emerging would still be visible wearing this cream, but would look much less "red alerty". It does go a long way, this product, I do not use it much. A keeper, this one, will be buying again.

I bought this CC cream for light coverage. It provides that nicely. The coverage is sheer, so I use La Vie Celeste Creme Foundation over it to cover the redness around my nose. It does give a nice, natural glow. Even though my skin is light, I bought the Warm Glow to add some color to my skin for the summer, and it blends nicely and isn't too dark. (I will probably combine it with the lighter shade in the winter.)

What I did not expect that's a huge benefit is how it changed my skin in just a month. It significantly diminished the fine lines under my eyes and helped reduce the fine line on my forehead. I was so impressed that I bought the moisturizer and serum in the same stem cellular repair line. I am 39 and don't have much in the way of significant wrinkles that need more help, but to reduce fine lines, this has been great. That it diminishes wrinkles while also playing the role of sheer foundation and making my skin look and feel so good is a huge, huge bonus. This CC cream made me fall in love with Juice Beauty!

I have been using Juice Beauty's Stem Cell CC in Desert Glow, are they not making that color anymore? There seem to only be 2 color choices on your site?

Charley, to respond to your question about the tinted moisturizer: I've just ordered the Juice Beauty CC cream to try, partially because of the positive reviews and partially due to my years-long allegiance to the Juice Beauty Tined Mineral Moisturizer with SPF 30. I used Pale Ivory for my super pale, blotchy with red, combination, breakout-prone skin. I don't know what I did before I discovered the oil-free, all natural, organic SPF line of moisturizers from Juice Beauty. The thing is, the Juice Beauty Tinted Mineral Moisturizer (and I've used the regular oil-free moisturizer, as well) do not have any color or coverage. The tint is light and visible in the product coming out of the tube, but honestly I don't know the function of the tint. However, I don't mind using a foundation or other color/coverage product on top of the moisturizers because the moisturizers perform so well. The oil-free aspect, plus the tremendous ingredients list, seem to be the magic combination, not to mention it has a great creamy PLUS fast-absorbing consistency, very easy to put on a lot or a little based on your preference. I'll post more details about the moisturizers on that specific product page, but I just wanted you to know an answer to your question about coverage. I'll also come back here and write a real review once the Juice Beauty CC Beauty Cream comes in the mail and I'm able to compare, contrast, and mix the two together! I can't wait, this line of products is awesome.

Hi there! Thanks for this review!!! Do you think this would be ok to use for acne-prone, oily skin types? Also, do you think it might be similar in purpose as Osmotics Inner Light? Cheers! :)

Thanks, Nisha! As Marta mentioned in her recommendation of Jane Iredale's Glow Time, so many BB creams out there fail miserably at multi-tasking. It's helpful to know the strengths of Juice Beauty BB and CC.
