Kat Burki Hibiscus Antioxidant Face Mask resurfaces skin to restore radiance and clarity to dry, congested or environmentally damaged skin. Hibiscus petals and cranberry fibers provide gently exfoliation while natural alpha hydroxy acids dissolve dead skin cells. This restorative facial mask also contains antioxidants from raw blueberry extract to neutralize free radicals and reduce discoloration, as well as rose hip and grapeseed oils to restore moisture.

I was drawn to the exotic ring of a face mask with hibiscus and without thinking much more about it, I expected Kat Burki’s Hibiscus Antioxidant Face Mask to be pampering and luxurious. It turns out to be rather more of an anti-aging powerhouse and more than worthy of being enlisted as a regular player in a serious skincare regimen.
After 15-20 minutes (I find myself leaving it on a little bit longer than directed) I am aware when rinsing off Kat Burki’s Hibiscus Antioxidant Face Mask of its slightly grainy texture, which seems to be giving some added, gentle exfoliation. Kat Burki’s mask is very much about clarifying and brightening. Expect to look perky and polished afterwards.
There are glycolic and lactic acids towards the top of the ingredients list and my sensitive skin always does react to this mask with a flush of redness after rinsing. It is not tingly or unpleasant and doesn’t last long, but this mask should be put in the exfoliating category.
Even hibiscus, which I had assumed to be mostly an antioxidant, has an exfoliating role. Hibiscus is about 15-30 percent plant acids, including citric acid, malic acid, tartaric acid and allo-hydroxycitric acid lactone. On the antioxidant front, hibiscus has alkaloids, anthocyanins, and quercetin.
Some of the more unusual ingredients in this packed-to-the-gunnels face mask, are cayenne pepper, periwinkle and Oregon grape. The latter has a convincing pedigree when it comes to treating skin disorders. Not a grape, but related to the barberry, Oregon grape has been shown to be effective on 20 different strains of acne bacteria.
With red wine polyphenols, ubiquinone, sea buckthorn, bushels of antioxidant berries and expression line inhibiting peptides, Kat Burki Hibiscus Antioxidant Face Mask has it all. The only thing to really not like is sodium hydroxide, a strong irritant that is typically used in cosmetics as a pH balancer.
I’ve only recently got to know Kat Burki’s line and have been completely won over by the Kat Burki Raw Beauty Body Butter. We have testers out with the Truth In Aging community of reviewers for Kat Burki’s hand cream and lip treatment and I am looking forward to seeing how they fare.

I LOVE this mask! I started using it about six weeks ago, twice a week, working up from 15 minutes to 30, and it's really making a difference in the quality and evenness of my skin tone. It has a pleasant fragrance and it just feels alive. I love using it when I'm trying to wind down. If I had to choose just one mask to use, this would be it, hands down!

I tried the sample in the 'Discover' sample and I got two uses out of it. I really liked the herbal smell of this product and it made my skin feel soft afterward, but I noticed no other difference in the appearance of my skin. This product reminds me of a much less expensive facial mask, but maybe over the long term, it offers benefits because of the antioxidants it contains.
