MD Solar Sciences Evening Facial Repair Serum is a nighttime serum formulated with retinol to even out skin tone and brighten dull, damaged skin resulting from hyperpigmentation and sun damage. This serum also helps to diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and large pores.

Directions:
Apply sparingly to face and neck every evening after cleansing as part of your nighttime skin care routine. Avoid eyes and sensitive areas surrounding eyes. Wear sunscreen at daytime.

TIA Review by Judy:
I have a fair complexion with rather dry, sensitive skin; and the signs of being 57 years old are becoming increasingly visible, particularly on the forehead and mouth areas. I’m very careful about the products that I use, opting for hypoallergenic, gentle and fragrance free whenever possible. I tested the MD Solar Sciences Evening Facial Repair Serum with hopes of reducing my fine lines and wrinkles, retexturing and improving my skin tone and (most importantly) doing so without inflammation or redness, given that retinol is a primary ingredient of this anti-aging product. I had been sensitive to retinoid compounds previously, but in this serum the retinol is “encapsulated and stabilized,” and I was anxious to try it.

The company emphasizes that this serum will “combat the wear-and-tear of daily sun exposure and restore skin’s youthful radiance.” It also claimed to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation, redness, and fine lines and wrinkles. I had done my fair share of damage years ago, before sunscreen, so (again) I was excited to start using the serum!

I found this serum to be very light and easily absorbed, with a mild fresh scent (presumably from the botanical antioxidants). It was easy to dispense from the pump bottle, and I discovered that a little went a long way. While the serum gave a soft sheen to my face, it was not greasy and was one of the more absorbent serums I have tried (a major plus in my view!)

I was particularly interested in the impact on my forehead and upper lip areas. After a few uses, I found that there were definite improvements in the appearance of my dry skin. My fine lines and wrinkles did appear softer, and I also noted improved skin tone – a healthy-looking glow. The usual crepey and dull facial dryness I would get after a night of sleep was significantly better, yet without the puffiness that can come from over-moisturizing at my age. And an area of my chin that was prone to blemishes and discoloration had cleared up nicely! More specifically, my face felt softer to the touch and well moisturized, without any of the redness or irritation. I think the combination of ingredients really works to both improve skin texture and reduce inflammation at the same time. I found the serum to be quite soothing. With my irritation-prone facial skin, I found MD Solar Sciences Evening Facial Repair Serum to be a real measure of success.

I would definitely recommend it as a gentle, effective overnight hydrating and balancing treatment for dry and aging skin. It is a great investment for an anti-aging regimen.

Editor’s note: This product also includes the heavy-hitting anti-ager Matrixyl 3000.
