Royal Nectar Face Mask is a wonderfully hydrating, lifting and rejuvenating treatment for anyone looking to firm and tighten skin, while reducing the effect of frown and laughter lines. It uses anti-inflammatory bee venom as the key active ingredient, which gently firms skin and helps diminish lines and wrinkles. This face mask also contains manuka honey and a soothing blend of waxes and oils to give skin a healthy glow, meriting all the Kate Middleton and British Royals' buzz. As with all the products offered by Truth In Aging, we've extensively reviewed the Royal Nectar Face Mask so that you can be confident that it will give you firmer, tighter skin. Shop Truth In Aging today for the perfect product to tighten skin and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.

Royal Nectar Face Mask can be used as a restorative face mask or as a night cream to deeply replenish. It uses Easyliance, a natural tensor, to break down skin cells and replenish the skin, while bee venom gently stimulates facial muscles. The result is a firm, youthful complexion.

Directions:
As a face mask: Cleanse skin and apply the cream generously over your face and neck. Wash off after 20 minutes.

As a night cream: Cleanse skin and apply sparingly to the face and neck, massaging gently. Leave over night and wash off in the morning.

Patch testing is recommended for first time use. May be used up to twice a week.

TIA Review by Marta:
It is thanks to Truth in Aging community member, Faye, that I found Royal Nectar. The company behind it, Nelson Honey, actually makes the bee venom active used by Heaven - the bee venom face mask said to be favored by the British Royals. Faye hadn't just found a lookalike, she'd gotten straight to the source. After testing Royal Nectar Face Mask with Bee Venom, I loved it so much that I decided to bring import it from New Zealand and it is exclusive in the US here at the Truth in Aging shop!

Royal Nectar is super hydrating and leaves skin feeling lovely and soft. If my skin looks dull and dry, I find it to be an instant pick-me-up that gives me a great glow (and a great start to the day). And for all that there is bee venom, I find this mask gentle and non-irritating.

So what's with the bee venom? Well, this ingredient had the British press all of a flutter when it was said to account for Camilla's transformation from someone who looked like she had spent most of her life galloping on horses in all weathers. It turned out that bee venom, also known as apitoxin, is made up mainly of peptides. The venom acts as a strong anti-inflammatory and antiseptic, plus it contains 19 different active components. Yes, this is actual venom and so if you are allergic to bee venom you should do a patch test before using this product.

Manuka honey is another of the key ingredients and this is an able healer of wounds and an anti-bacterial that can keep acne under control. There are other good things here too. Royal Nectar has avocado and apricot kernel oils. It also has something Easyliance. This is made from acacia (a tree indigenous to Africa) and rhizobian gum to make the skin feel smoother and tighter. In case you scan Royal Nectar's ingredients list and wonder what "optiphen plus" is, it is basically the preservative phenoxyethanol, and ticaxan is a stabilizer and thickener.

Our Take...

This is an easy one.  TIA gave me the chance to try and then review the Royal Nectar Original Face Mask with Bee Venom ($68 in the shop) about a month ago, after it had been favorably noticed by Marta in November – you might remember that all this started with the Royal Wedding buzz (ahem)... Your Take...

I have combination-dry skin that is overall problem free. That is, until recently for the last 6 months to a year, my skin has become easily irritated and "reactive". A combination of sustained lack of sleep plus hormonal changes due to aging has allowed environmental stressors to catch up to me and wreak havoc on my skin. What was once stable, smooth skin now fluctuates between red, bumpy, irritated skin (visible veins and pimples) and a state of short-lived calmer skin. Enter the Royal Nectar Face Mask with Bee Venom... Since I began using this mask 5 weeks ago my skin has finally returned to it's former self. I wish I could say I'm getting adequate sleep but alas that isn't a contributing factor, nor is there any other change to my facial care regimen. I saw basically an overnight healing begin when I started using this mask as a night cream. Within a few days my skin had totally calmed down and for certain under a week, it was back to normal. I'm now allowing exfoliation and other treatments for my skin whereas before it would have flared it up. My guess is that the main ingredient responsible for helping save my skin is honey and bee-venom, with it's anti-imflammatory and healing properties. Whatever it is, I'm so happy I found this skin saver!

    **Long term post usage review**

As a wash off mask (applied in a thick layer): Moisturises face wonderfully well, leaves a very visible glow on the face. Skin feels somewhat smooth after washing this off, perhaps the waxes in this contributing to that.

This is my secret weapon after airline travel dries out my face. And a lifesaver after my acid peels when my skin is flaky and feels extremely dried and rough..

Works very well as a prep for special events and parties, even if I had less sleep the night before.

As a night cream (applied in a think layer): next morning face feels moisturised and has a visible glow and I just wash my face with water and get ready for work.

Works great for my dehydrated, oily, acne prone skin.

Only negative - using this during the hot and humid Indian summer evening or morning is a little uncomfortable, the waxy layer does feel a little heavy in such weather.

Nearly a year since I purchased this and will need to restock soon.

This is great stuff. After using, I always have such a healthy glow. I give it a 4 instead of a 5 because I'm not really convinced the usage has any long term benefits. It doesn't seem to me that my skin improves with use. My skin looks great for the next 20 hours or so, but I don't think there's any repairing actually going on with continued use. But then again, should I expect that from a mask? It does exactly what it says it's going to do and I'm happy with that. I'm on my 3rd jar, I never want to be without that, so I guess that's as good as review as any product could hope for!

This is my favorite face mask. I use it about once a week as a face mask and periodically as a night cream. While it has a great firming effect on my lower cheeks & jawline, it does make the area around my lower eyes puffy. Thus, I have learned to avoid my cheekbones & I am very happy with the results. I also like the way it makes my face glow.

  • 5 stars 4 out of 5

I've been using this product for around 2 month as a leave in night treatment. I live in a very dry area. My combination skin is now more on a dry side with patches of dry area occasionally. This product is excellent in hydrating my skin. It healed my dry patches and made my skin smooth. I do not mind the smell at all. Over all, it's very nice moisturizer. I took off a star because, although this product gave me great hydration, I did not notice any firming or much reduction on my wrinkles.

I love the Royal Nectar Face Mask with Bee Pollen, I use that at least once a week. It makes my skin feel so moisturized and luminescent.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Royal Nectar face mask. I USE IT DAILY because IT WORKS. My skin is dewey, moist and supple.

  • 5 stars 4 out of 5

I'm in my late 50's with acne- and rosacea-prone skin. I've been using this for about 3-4 months now as a nearly daily moisturizer on my face, neck, chest and hands without any problems. It leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated unlike any other product I have used. I really love this product and plan to re-order it. However, I'm giving it only four stars because it contains the preservative phenoxyethanol and lavender essential oil, which, in large enough amounts, can trigger for me headaches.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I have been using the Bee Venom Royal Mask for almost a year. I actually put it on every morning and evening as a moisturizer. My skin is so soft, supple, and dewy. Another product I will NOT be without!

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

This is my absolute favorite thing right now. I actually use it once a week or so as an overnight treatment and the next morning my pores are less visible, my tone is more radiant and my skin is so well hydrated.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

This mask was number one on my Christmas wish list. I LOVE everything Kate and was dying to give it a try. As the duchess might say, it's "brilliant!" This mask smells yummy, leaves my 40ish skin glowing and soft. Over time, my skin looks more plump and fine lines reduced. Thanks Kate!

  • 5 stars 1 out of 5

I found the scent strong and it made my skin feel "waxy" for lack of a better word. I'm sticking with the Heaven brand because I love the consistency and the results with that brand. Really wanted to love this. Bummer.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I'm ordering my second jar of this after useing the first off and on the last 6 months. I use various products but always when I put this on, an instant tightening effect is felt which seems to last the full day .It doesn't leave a greasy feel. I do add moisturizer to this at night as I don't think it plumps as well as it tightens. I'm not sure why it is marketed as a mask because it works very well just left on the face on top of your serums.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I sleep with this product on almost every other night, and it's SAVED my sleep deprived skin. In the morning, there's a bright, dewy glow, and my nasolabial folds are less pronounced. I alternate with prescription Retin A, and Royal Nectar keeps me from drying out too much.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I love this product and I love the light fragrance. I actually often put this on at night and sleep in it. My skin feels very soft, plumped up and hydrated in the morning. Personally, I just don't like to rinse it off as a mask and it works really well for me when I leave it on like this. It is also a reasonable price for a nice amount that lasts me awhile.

  • 5 stars 3 out of 5

Oh, how I wanted to love this mask! It was my research on bee venom products that led me to the Truth In Aging site, so for that, I will always be grateful, but this product has not been overly impressive. I have no issue with its scent or consistency, but I find it very drying. Taking others' advice, I first tried it as a night cream, but that proved to do more harm than good -- I would wake with skin that felt very tight and it seemed to increase my fine lines. As a mask, I like to think that its ingredients are doing my skin some good, but I certainly don't see any visible signs of improvement after using it, as I do with a couple of other things that I use. After two months of trying to find its proper place in my regimen, I believe this is a fine "put it on my face when I'm doing chores around the house" mask, but I don't think I'll be purchasing it again. In its defense, I have been using this during a cold New England winter, but I have come to believe that bee venom just doesn't do anything for me.

  • 5 stars 4 out of 5

After the first application, my skin had a dewy glow, was softer to the touch and did appear lifted. I have been using the mask two to three times a week, but the directions for use call for making this a daily 20-minute treatment as part of your regular skincare routine. I intend to increase the frequency of use and meet the daily quota as I grimacingly catapault into the next 50+ birthday year ... uh-um .... soon. I am looking forward to a cumulative and energizing firming effect that I can continue to both see and feel. When the cheeks and jawline appear lifted, it surely helps compensate for that devil we despise called "gravity."

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I have been using this for nearly a year now and actually didn't want to write a review because I don't want too many people to start using it! lol! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product!!! I use it as a facial cream- not a mask- and I use it morning and night. I rub a decent amount all over my face (the eye area included) and all over my neck. I do not wash it off. I am addicted to the tingly sensation I get from the bee venom and if they started making a perfume with this smell- I'd buy that too!! My boyfriend calls it the "aphrodisiac cream" and can't wait until I start my nightly face ritual. :) I am closing in on 50 and people regularly think I am in my mid-30's. I truly believe this Royal Nectar Face Mask has a lot to do with it! Thank you Royal Nectar... I❤U!

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

Royal nectar face lift and mask are my go to products when my skin needs a pick-me-up. I use the mask as an overnight treatment when my skin really needs some tlc.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I've tried and love Royal Nectar. I actually see results after using the bee venom mask.

  • 5 stars 4 out of 5

I've used it both as a mask, and also as a nighttime moisturizer (applied very lightly), alternating from one to the other. It goes on smoothly and is absorbed quickly. After a month, I've barely used a quarter of the jar. I would recommend Royal Nectar Face Mask with Bee Venom, especially as a skin revitalizer. Although I didn't see a dramatic difference in the lines and wrinkles, the overall look of my skin was softer and younger, and the lines less pronounced.

  • 5 stars 1 out of 5

100% would rather use the Heaven brand, the overall quality and texture of the cream from Heaven is light and non greasy, unlike this Royal Nectar which has dried out my skin.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I'm 62 with somewhat dry skin and I'm not one who usually sees results or a difference right away with facial products. I have to agree with all the other reviewers. This mask is awesome.

First time I used it - I left it on for 20 minutes and rinsed off - my skin felt SO different, so soft, smooth and hydrated. I was not expecting to experience this kind of change. Can't wait to see what long term usage will do for me. The smell is wonderful, also. Love it!

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I love, love, love this product. I am in the process of ordering the second jar and I can tell you that I have seen good results. I use the mask as my night moisturizer and in the morning the face lift, and I love the feeling. The smell doesn't bother me at all, I actually find it appealing. I am about to turn 50 and believe it or not I look 15 years younger... or at least that is what everybody tells me. I started taking care of my face since I turned 15 and I have basically become a fanatic. I don't buy the most expensive products but I really try to buy natural, organic and cruelty free. My skin looks hydrated, smooth, clearer and feels great... Give it a try, you might find really enjoying the results. I surely do!

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I am approaching 40...rapidly, and have noticed that keeping my skin hydrated is a challenge. This product works and works quickly. I apply it in the morning, put on my make up and leave it on all day. I feel a very slight heating or tingling sensation when I first put it on, but it is barely noticeable. I interpret this as ingredients that are going to task! Some reviewers have mentioned an unpleasant scent and I agree that it isn't the best smelling product available however, I would rather use a product that omits ingredients and fragrances that don't serve an active purpose. (I use many "beauty" products every day and I hope they all smell good when combined!)

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I'd give this 6 stars if I could - I love this mask and it's got a permanent place in my cabinet. It's lifting, plumping, line erasing, hydrating and even calming, all in one jar! Sadly the effects only seem to last the day but with results like these, I'm not complaining.

  • 5 stars 4 out of 5

Tried it as a tester, along with the Royal Nectar's Moisturizing Face lift. This one is more potent without a question. I use a tiny amount and leave on like a moisturizer and it's great, the skin is plumper and the fine lines are evaporating - or so it seems. Skin is hydrated for a whole day. Will see what happens when I'll ran out of it. The smell is awkward, though. And I would prefer some other preservative. I agee with "I went to the source!" - a mask made entirely of honey & venom seems more healthy. I did that as well, but a honey mask every day - it's a fuss. Still - with phenoxyethanol inside it - I will probably end up doing just that.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

Wow! Oscar Wilde said "never trust a woman who reveals her true age". So, I will admit to being a speed limit........I love, love , love this product. Leave on for 20 mins, wash off, and your foundation is ooooooooh. Dewy, glow . Where is the mirror? I can't stop looking in the mirror. 5 mins Later, double check that look is still there? Phew. So, last night I applied this magic mask and left it on overnight, and yes, I give this product six stars.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

    An absolutely wonderful mask.

This is one of only two products that I have ever found that can effectively take down the red, sensitive patches on my cheeks which are due to rosacea, dehydration and broken capillaries.

(Bizarrely, the other is La Mer Concentrate which is hideously expensive and full of questionable ingredients).

On top of the dealing with my cheeks, I find my skin has that post salon-facial plumped up feeling all day and is very smooth and hydrated. I notice a significant difference in the marionette lines that are beginning to form every time I use it - the effects of using this cream are comparable to a caci facial which I swear by.

I am 40 years old and will continue to use this product and will be buying the moisturiser as well to see if it is as effective. I wish they made an eye cream!

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I like this product a lot. It's got a very nice hand feel, and slips onto the skin easily. A little goes a long way. I've noticed good results on my neck (along with Brad serum).

I just wanted to post a little bit of a warning. I put some on one morning and went out into the driveway to do something. (CA, spring, etc) The wisteria are in bloom and if you've never smelled them, it's a lovely fragrance and attracts lots of bees. But here's the unfortunate thing: with Bee Venom on, I managed to become more of an attraction than the wisteria. They made a bee line for me. I went inside and washed it off and the bees paid no more attention to me. So if I were planning a day outdoors, I probably wouldn't put this on and leave it. Just saying, that's all.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I love this one. I'm in my 30's and would apply it after cleansing in the evening. I don't even bother washing it off now. It tightens nicely the skin, won't leave any greasy residue and won't make me break out. It has a strange soapy smell, but if you can get past that, the results are really noticeable - fine lines are lessened and the face is well hydrated.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I use this as a moisturizer because it doesn't need to be washed off. It smells and feels heavenly.

  • 5 stars 2 out of 5

I find it quite drying. Not very happy with the product at all. I also find the fragrance quite strong.

  • 5 stars 4 out of 5

Instead of spending $65 on a small jar why not buy a larger jar of straight Manuka Honey with Bee Venom straight from the manufacturer in New Zealand? I bought a 8 oz jar of Manuka honey with bee venom for $23 and I put the honey straight on my face. You get all the active ingredients without all the fillers. It's cheaper. AND you can eat a teaspoon a day to benefit from its anti-inflammatory effects. Great for Muscle weakness, M.S., Parkinsons, Arthritis, Gout, Acid Reflux, Digestion, Gas, Rosacea, Eczema. It dries on then washes right off.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

    I LOVE this product. Why?
It's in my cabinet for 2 things: 1. Botox like 2. Acne
I'll put this mask on when my skin needs a bit of an overhaul and I feel like there are too many wrinkles developing. It helps to smooth out the skin.
If I notice I'm starting to have a bit of an acne breakout, I'll also use this mask and it helps to keep it/them at bay.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

The mask performed well every time I used it, but I did not see the need to use it every day. While there does not seem to be a cumulative effect, a “refreshed” look is there each time I have used the mask. I have 55-year-old skin that has really begun to sag a lot over the last year. The mask has had no impact on my turkey neck, but it does seem to perk up the areas around my eyes and jowls.

My skin is not dry and it tends to be somewhat oily in the T-zone area; so, I was expecting the oils in the product to leave my face looking like an oil slick. Instead, my skin was perfectly hydrated and felt very comfortable!

I love this mask! It does what I expect it to do every time I use it.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

This product is fantastic!...Like many others, I have spent copious amounts of money on skin care products with not much of a noticeable change. But, after only three days of applying a light application morning and night, my skin is soft and age lines are disappearing. I'm totally amazed! I'm 69.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I have 47-year-old sensitive skin thaI will keep this as a permanent part of my skincare routinet is prone to breakouts. After a treatment, my skin feels hydrated and pampered - very soft and without the redness that usually follows even a mild cleansing. This is a nourishing mask that also manages to smooth my fine lines and sagging “laugh lines.”

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

    This product is fabulous.

Mid-December was just the right time to get started with this, given cold weather and lifelong dry skin. I have used the mask once or twice a week for four weeks – not a long time but long enough to recognize that is both lovely to use and produces notable results, too. Each time I found my skin feeling really softer, smoother, and wonderfully hydrated.

    Hi Renee
I have researched sourcing apitoxin myself and, like you, found it to be expensive. Note that Heaven is marketed by a British company and ingredients labeling rules are not the same in the UK. Also note that apitoxin outside the US is less expensive, because bees are more abundant in other countries. As I am sure you are aware, bees are almost extinct in the US. We import Nelson Honey's Royal Nectar bee venom mask from New Zealand. Nelson Honey has its own bee farm and, therefore, sources the apitoxin from its live stock and is able to control its marginal costs. Bee venom is listed on the ingredients (not apitoxin) and is cleared by the FDA when we import it through US customs.

    by Renee

First off, what is the actual percentage used of Apitoxin? I HIGHLY doubt at that price its substantial enough Apitoxin (Bee Venom) to make any type of difference. As a cosmetic formulations scientist, I am appalled that you would actually list Bee venom as an ingredient when according to GMP standards, you MUST list it as Apitoxin! The highest amount of Apitoxin that can be safely used in a cosmetic application is at 1%. This would mean, it would NOT be listed as the second or third ingredient! And if you actually used it at even close to 1%, the product would not cost just $40...it would be more like $400!! I know how much Apitoxin costs! You and other makers of MOST products that "say" contain Bee Venom (i.e. Apitoxin) when you are really just using plain honey that "might" contain a "speck" of Apitoxin are literally lying to the general public!! Consumers BE AWARE of false advertising!!!
