Let’s face it, most people get dark circles, especially from lack of sleep and long, stressful work-weeks. I’m constantly searching for ways to hide this obvious sign of fatigue (foundation, powder, or concealer are usually among the first things I try). While these quick fixes deliver immediate results, they only cover up the problem.
I was afforded the opportunity to try 100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream ($19) and could not pass it up, even though I knew nothing about it. Before I began using the eye cream, I researched the company’s website and was pleased to learn that it is 100% natural, vegan, and gluten free. As much as I have tried to transition into leading a healthy lifestyle, I have fallen behind in the beauty department; most of the beauty products I use are not pure or organic. For this reason, I was very excited to try this new product.
Since the eye cream is completely natural, I began using it every morning and night. I continued to use it for a little over a month, only to find very little change. The website states that “in a four-week independent study, 97% saw reduction of puffiness, 93% say it reduced the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, 100% say it improved skin hydration and moisturization, and 87% saw a reduction of dark circles.” Since I am only 23, I don’t have any fine lines and wrinkles or any issues with puffiness around my eyes, but I cannot deny that the product did keep my skin hydrated without making my skin look oily.
Although I found very little change in the appearance of my dark circles, I would not overrule using the coffee bean caffeine eye cream for two reasons: a month may not be enough time for a person to recognize a significant change in his/her dark circles, and in order to realize the change he/she must document the process. I recommend that people who use this cream take pictures of their dark circles periodically during the time that they use it to assess and compare any subtle changes. We tend to look for immediate and drastic change over only a short period of time, which is usually not the outcome. I suggest that people who use the eye cream have patience and use it consistently over several months. It didn’t work for me (on my first try); however, someone else could have amazing results.
