I Pekar Eye Cream ($68 in the shop), by my esthetician Ildi Pekar, seems to have been inspired by the story of the loaves and fishes. I don’t know if you would get 5,000 applications from this little pot of gold, but I can tell you that the tiniest amount goes the longest way, dispensing only good things and leaving my whole eye area smoother and firmer.

The texture of this cream is light and almost liquidy. At first, I thought it would be too runny, but I then realized that a very, very small drop per eye is all that is needed. Indeed, the texture proves perfect for massaging fully around the entire eye area and leaves the skin feeling wonderfully soft. All in all, it is an absolute pleasure to use.

I Pekar Eye Cream seems to hit all bases — it is very hydrating, plus it firms and fades fine lines. I have been using it on its own and find it very effective, but it has just now struck me that it could also be laid over a serum that isn’t moisturizing enough on its own. I should also mention that it has worked a small miracle on some rosacea. This “off-label” use was an act of desperation, as I have had a stubborn patch of rosacea for a few weeks. A regular dab of I Pekar Eye Cream brought it down to a much less red and angry level in just a few weeks.

I Pekar’s ingredients are all natural and major on raw honey, a healing agent that is rich in antioxidants. Like the I Pekar Moisturizer, there is also a collagen boosting peptide, tripeptide 5.

The eye cream stands out, however, by including gluconolactone, an ingredient that is worth a few sentences. Gluconolactone is a polyhydroxy acid. This is one acid worth dropping. It protects cell lipids and membranes from UV damage. Furthermore, it may also help to preserve the skin's elasticity by preventing an increase in the enzyme elastase. And we aren't done yet. PHAs/bionic acids inhibit MMP enzymes in skin, which are responsible for all the things we are trying to prevent such as wrinkles, sagging and broken veins.

Other useful ingredients include antioxidant watermelon extract and CoQ10, a small molecule that can easily penetrate the skin, CoQ10 may boost skin repair and regeneration and reduce free radical damage. Expression line inhibitor, Argireline, is present as is anti-inflammatory willow. The natural preservatives are aspen bark and radish root.
