Although I always hold out hope for products that really, really do work, I am a real skeptic because I’ve tried so many things and have often seen little to no difference. After reading some of the glowing reviews about the new Your Best Face Correct ($150 in the shop), I was very interested to find out if women were just seeing what they wanted to see, or if this product was the real deal. I was so excited to be chosen to try YBF Correct – but I have to admit, I expected to write a “What’s the big deal” review.

My main aging concerns are:

  • dark under-eye circles (family genes)
  • sagging skin and moderately hooded eyes
  • crow’s feet (fine but definitely there; the lines span from above the eyebrows down into my cheeks)
  • darkening skin on upper eyelids, especially inner corner and outer corners

I started using the YBF Correct very sparingly as I wasn’t sure how much product was in the sample I received, and I wanted it to last the full 30 days. One full pump was plenty for both eyes, top and underneath, from eyebrow to the top of my cheeks, where the dark circles end. There was even enough for a thin layer on my crow’s feet.

The pale yellow cream is scented like marzipan almond – yummy! It glides on the skin – not too oily, not too dry, and soaks in quickly. I did find if I applied makeup a few minutes after Correct, it tended to make under-eye concealer drag and created little “pills” of product that I had to rub off (and therefore probably rubbed off most of the Correct). I don’t wear makeup every day and also alternated and applied it at bedtime, so this wasn’t a problem for me. I used it once a day.

The results? The first time I applied the eye cream, I looked in the mirror about 20 to 30 minutes later and was surprised to see that my eyes already looked noticeably lifted – but my internal skeptic said it was wishful thinking. Then, over the next week, I caught myself in a mirror several times (not intentionally gazing to see how I looked or examining to see if the product had made any difference) and thought, “Wow, my eyes look really lifted – and younger!” And then I remembered the Correct. That, to me, was real proof that this product had a definite effect on how lifted, taut and more youthful my eyes looked.

I was extremely skeptical that any product would make a difference on hereditary dark eye circles. I didn’t have an “Aha!” moment as I did with the lifting effect. In addition, the month I tried Correct I also had a particularly stressful, sleep-deprived month. My expectations were low, but still, I was feeling a little disappointed that, yet again, a highly touted product “only” scored as an eye-lifter. But…

...then, after about 30 to 40 days of use I noticed – again, unintentionally – that I was using less concealer under my eyes. And, for the first time in many, many years, my eye circles were almost nonexistent with a fully made-up face. The only darkness I saw was the shadow from the sunken areas under my eyes – also a result of aging – but with full makeup on, I couldn’t see the blue areas that are definitely visible when bare faced. I was kind of shocked!

I haven’t seen a difference in my crow’s feet, but they are, thankfully, still fairly fine. Perhaps with continued use, they’ll stay that way.

I will definitely continue to use Your Best Face Correct until it’s all gone. I am convinced that it really, really does work! Will I buy again? I definitely would if money were no object, and one bottle does last more than 30 days – at least for me. But at $150, it’s a purchase I will definitely have to think about and watch out for when Marta has it on sale.
