Jenetiqa Firm Up Body and Hands Firming Cream is my second foray into the Jenetiqa line, which has made ubiquinone its hero ingredient. It can take me a while to get to know and love a product—weeks, sometimes months—but with this hand cream, I was won over from the get-go. And five weeks later, my hands really look smoother and younger. This is a keeper.

For the past few months I have had recurring eczema on my hands, along the side of my right forefinger, the palm of my left hand, just under my wedding ring…no longer. About a week after using Jenetiqa Firm Up Body and Hands Firming Cream, I instinctively began to think it was helping and then the eczema completely cleared up. When I went to Jenetiqa’s website to write this review, I cracked a huge smile upon reading “this cream will help heal skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis.” And so it does. According to Jenetiqa, shea butter is an amazing emollient that reduces eczema. You learn something every day. I knew that shea was a great emollient and now I’m a walking testament to the eczema part.

Other good things include argan and sweet almond oils with high fatty acid content, hydrating sodium hyaluronate and antioxidant green tea. I am less keen on polyacrylamide, a thickening agent and somewhat controversial ingredient that is formed from acrylamide, a known neurotoxin. Although not toxic, there are some concerns that polyacrylamide could secrete acrylamide. And there’s the preservative methylisothiazolinone, an irritant and toxin that should really be confined to rinse off products. Having said that, I should share that in a recent email exchange following my review of Premiere Essence, Jenetiqa’s founder said that she took on board my comments about preservatives and was more than open to look for alternatives. Being willing to listen and respond to the Truth In Aging community goes a long way with me and I was really impressed.
