Osmotics Blue Copper 5 Cooling Moisture Mist is an anti-aging spray that soothes, tones and hydrates skin that's dry, dull or tired. Malachite-copper and wild pansy extracts calm irritation and redness while epidermal hyaluronic acid boosts moisture retention to plump skin and smooth fine line and wrinkles.

Directions:
Spray liberally over entire face and throat after cleansing or anytime skin needs instant hydration or soothing relief. To set makeup, lightly mist over entire face for natural radiance.

TIA Review by Marta:
Around 3:30 on most afternoons, I get a hot flash. I have no idea why my hormones should have a built-in clock, but I have found a solution that cools me down — and so much more. Osmotics Blue Copper 5 Cooling Moisture Mist is new to the line and a very welcome addition to my day.

I think the whole idea of an anti-aging mist that cools hot flashes is genius. And Osmotics Blue Copper 5 Cooling Moisture Mist really does relieve overheated skin in seconds. I go from flushed and irritated to soothed within seconds. I keep it on my desk and spritz my face, neck and arms as needed. The lavender scent even elevates my mood.

According to Osmotics, a marine oligosaccharide is responsible for the new, cool me. Marine oligosaccharides come from shellfish or algae, and studies have demonstrated they are good free radical scavengers. The version here is an alga extract called enteromorpha compressa, which comes from green algae and has specifically been called out as a “potent antioxidant” by researchers.

Another interesting ingredient is malachite, a semi-precious stone that is an important source of copper ore. Copper increases the amounts of collagen and elastin, and malachite is regarded as a detoxifier that’s recommended for those who have constant exposure to computer screens (which would be me).

I like the inclusion of wild pansy, a natural source of salicylic acid. Wild pansy seems to be a medicinal treasure trove: it’s an anti-inflammatory, contains peptides that may combat cancer and has antioxidant flavonoids, such as quercetin and rutin. I recently discovered that rutin is a cure for broken veins.

There is also saccharide isomerate, a water-binding emollient that provides long-lasting moisture. The only thing to dislike is phenoxyethanol, a harsh preservative. Although, it should be noted that it is offset by the milder potassium sorbate and oleth-10, a skin irritant.

As well as being cooling and hydrating, the anti-aging actions of copper and pansy make this mist an extremely useful and well-priced addition to my skincare routine. I’m taking a long haul flight soon, and my Osmotics Blue Copper 5 Cooling Moisture Mist will be one thing I’ll be sure to have in my hand luggage.

Your Take...

  • My apologies. I don't think I'd had my cup of tea when I wrote that! Thank you for clearing it up Marta.

  • Summerstorms, there isn't copper in the formula. There is malachite, which is a source of copper ore. This is explained in the review.

  • Um, where is the copper in the ingredients list? Is it called by a different name? Thanks :)
