TIA Review by Cynthia:
Let me begin by saying W3LL People is a really funky, hip, beauty and environmentally conscious company. They are quite appealing to those of us seeking natural, pure, and green beauty products. They use natural, good for your skin ingredients, such as aloe, green tea, and chamomile. They do not use any "nasties", like parabens, petrochemicals, artificial ingredients, silicones, nanoparticles, glycols, or sulphates. The products are made in the USA, not tested on animals, "hippie tested and diva approved," they claim on their packaging.
The blush I reviewed is the mineral blush in the color Purist 62. It is described as a "satin coral pink color", and I would definitely say it is a very soft, matte peachy/pink color. The blush comes in a nice, large container and contains .21oz (6 grams) of product. The packaging is eco-friendly, and simple. Ingredients include: Mica, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide. It also says "may contain" Ultramarine Blue (a natural blue pigment), Ferric Ferrocyanide (an inorganic blue pigment), organic Aloe, Chamomile, and Green Tea. One thing I noticed on their website is that it is very difficult to get an idea of what color their blushes are. They list the color as satin, and the product description also says satin. Honestly, the three mineral blushes on the website look more like bronzers than blushes, so I was somewhat confused. I did email customer service for a better description of the mineral blush colors. They responded promptly, and provided a much better description of the colors and finishes.
I applied the blush to my cheeks after using my normal mineral foundation, and it went on flawlessly using a fluffy blush brush. It blended nicely into my skin, and gave a subtle, peachy/pink color to my cheeks. I have medium skin with yellow undertones, and this color looked very soft and natural. It is nicely pigmented- not too deep, and not too light. It is also buildable, so you can adjust the color for a more dramatic look. However, if you do not blend it in really well, it can appear a little chalky. I set my foundation and blush with a setting spray, and went about my day. After about 8 hours, I could tell that the blush had faded slightly, but I still had some good cheek color, so I did not reapply. One of the problems I have had with more natural beauty products is that they do not have the longer staying power that non-natural products have. This blush seemed to stay on longer than most other natural blushes I have tried.
Overall, I really like the color, ingredients, and packaging of this blush. I also really like the mission and philosophy of this company. I definitely will be trying several of their other products.
