behentrimonium methosulfate to remove tangles, making it easier for you to brush or comb. Before you needed at least three products to provide your hair with all these amazing benefits, now all you need is one.
Directions:
Apply to wet hair and vigorously massage, starting at the scalp and then through to the ends of the hair. Massage for about 1 minute and then rinse. If your hair has extra buildup, rinse and repeat as necessary. Recommended for those with textured, thick, coarse, dry, and/or color treated hair.

I approached Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind Avocado + Quinoa Co-Wash a little cautiously. I didn’t much care for the Briogeo Cleansing Shampoo in the same Be Kind, Be Gentle series. And all too often, shampoo/conditioners seem to do neither one nor the other or err on the side of conditioning. The result is limp hair that doesn’t feel clean. Happily, this was not my experience with the co-wash. It cleanses and conditions very well.
I have been putting Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind Avocado + Quinoa Co-Wash through its paces at my gym. I was immediately drawn to the idea of one bottle to carry around and one time-saving application. Furthermore, gym is something of a misnomer as I am talking Pure Power Boot Camp, which is an intense experience that leaves my hair literally dripping with sweat. This was a cleansing/conditioning test if ever there was one.
All in all, Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind Avocado + Quinoa Co-Wash does a good job. Après boot camp, my hair is cleansed and soft. My only complaint about it is that I struggle to find the right amount to use. For sure, it requires more than a regular shampoo, but I certainly started by applying too much. I am gradually using less to get to the optimum amount. The good news is that it massages well into the scalp, rubs through to the hair ends easily and rinses well. Do note that the consistency is that of a conditioner, and there is no foaming at all.
The ingredients are natural and built around the detangling agent, behentrimonium methosulfate, which comes from rapeseed. Conditioning is provided by shea butter, avocado oil and squalane. The quinoa, the South American wonder grain crops up in hair products from time to time. Although quinoa is undeniably packed with amino acids as well as vitamin B2, there isn’t much empirical evidence to back up what it might do for hair. Still, it won’t do harm and neither will anything else used by Briogeo — although the nearest thing to a surfactant, cetrimonium chloride, can be an irritant.

I received a sample of this in the Discover with Marta collection. I was pleasantly surprised with this shampoo. My hair did feel clean after using it. What I really liked though was that my hair did comb out easier than it normally does, so I guess the conditioning aspect also worked. I don't think I would buy this though. I can't get beyond having no suds - even though the suds may not be good for your hair.

I was first introduced to cream cleansers when I decided to buy the Purely Perfect Cleansing Crème, which was touted as a non-shampoo, all natural shampoo. I had serious second thoughts about spending $40 for an 8 oz bottle, but I have always struggled with oily scalp and dry ends and hoped that a milder cleanser may help with both. I felt that the Purely Perfect was OK, not great. It solved my dry ends problem but also weighted my hair down. When I saw the Briogeo, I thought I have nothing to lose by trying a similar product at half the price.
I am happy to report that I love Briogeo MUCH better. First, it is easier to spread. I required 5 pumps of the Purely perfect for my short bob simply because a lesser amount was impossible to spread all over my hair. I need a small walnut of Briogeo to get my hair clean. It leaves my hair nicely moisturized but also does not weight it down at all. For those readers who have not used a cream cleanser before, it will not make any suds, but once you get used to it you will realize that it does clean the hair well.
Bottom line: I love it and I will continue to use it. I typically use it on its own but twice a month I first use a clarifying shampoo to make sure I get rid of the residue left behind by the serum/oil I use every other day when I straighten my hair. I would go as far as saying that this is one of the top three hair products I have ever used.

I received this as part of the fall Discover with Marta collection-I was hesitant to use it and skeptical about how my hair would look after using it-I was pleasantly surprised-I have very fine-highlighted hair and typically after shampooing and conditioning-I also spray on a leave in de-tangeler-after using this product-my hair combed out easily and looked and felt soft and shiny-instead of three steps-I only had one-I did follow the instructions carefully-and even though I have long hair-I only used half of the sample-I plan on ordering this product-thanks for including it in the sample package.
