Marionette lines are the pronounced crease that runs from the corners of the mouth to down along the chin. It can also refer to nasolabial folds occurring around the top of the mouth.
As collagen in the face decreases with age, skin tends to crease and fold around the mouth. While not everyone experiences marionette lines, they can be quite bothersome for those who do, as they can give the face an unhappy expression.
It is believed that genetics play a large role in whether or not you develop marionette lines. But there are certain things that can serve to exacerbate the issue, like too much sun exposure, smoking and poor diet.
As there is no certain way to prevent marionette lines, the best defense is to take good care of skin and protect it from excessive sun exposure.
However, when it comes to rebuilding lost collagen and elastin, effective ingredients include copper peptides, Syn-Coll, Matrixyl, Syn-tacks, Tripeptide 1 and vitamin C.
The marionette lines are a common location for filler injections. However, there are ways to improve the appearance of these lines without resorting to needles. Consistent LED treatment is the most effective way to plump the area, reducing the appearance of creasing. However, there are also topical solutions that can provide help with long-term use.

Hello, Marta! I will let you know how I like ReLuma. ;) I have a question about ReLuma. Rec'd the product yesterday....YAY!! I watched your video on how to make product last...big help. The tiny amount I used seemed to go a long way....I was able to use a thin layer to cover my entire face. I was wondering which face and eye moisturizers were compatible with this product. I read that Osmotics Lipofil has a great face moisturizer for marionette lines. Can I use this with the ReLuma? Which eye cream would you suggest for 45 year old skin with crows feet? I currently use L'occitane Immortelle Precious Night Cream...I use this in the day with sunscreen and at night. I also use the Precious Eye balm, also from L'occitane. When I run out (which will be soon), I want to buy products from your site for my marionette issue....and my crows feet. The stuff at Sephora isn't cutting it anymore lol. Again...so thankful I found the TIA site. Thank you!

Hi Imelda, Firewall still has four silicones and two of them are dominant ingredients. Shame because it would be soooooo good if Medik8 could reformulate with fewer. And hi Bobbie and welcome to the TIA community - we empower one another with candid feedback so do let us know how you get on with ReLuma.

I am new to the TIA community. I love your article about marionette lines...my nemesis. I ordered the Reluma Skin Illuminating Serum the other day and cannot wait to start using it. Thank you for all the information on this issue. I feel so empowered. ;-)

Hi, Marta!
Has Medik8 Firewall eliminated their silicones upon your hint since the last review you posted? Just wondering since this product seems like the one that has the most of the ingredients you mentioned.
