Truth Vitality Lux Renew is a hand-held, FDA-cleared anti-aging device designed to diminish wrinkles and fight acne. Safe and easy to use at home, Lux Renew combines skin-smoothing ultrasound technology with collagen-boosting red and blue LED light therapy to improve the skin’s elasticity, minimize fine lines, reduce redness and broken veins, and destroy pore-clogging bacteria. Created in direct response to feedback from the Truth In Aging community, Lux Renew’s effectiveness is backed by a successful 12-week clinical trial, as well as TIA product reviews from women just like you. It’s also the only multi-functional device equipped with both ultrasound and LED technology that’s been cleared by the FDA. You’ll see immediate results — so give it a try and order now!

Used with a topical gel or serum, Truth Vitality Lux Renew works painlessly and effectively on both the face and neck, and is suitable for all skin types. The red LED light and ultrasonic waves firm and smooth the skin — leveling wrinkles and evening out skin tone — while the blue LED wavelengths penetrate the pores to clear blemishes and prevent breakouts. Lux Renew is safe, effective, and easy to use, delivering dermatologist-grade results from the comfort of your own home. And it’s the only device of its kind that’s cleared by the FDA!

Ultrasound: There are five ultrasound settings. As the ultrasound waves pass from the treatment head into the skin, they prompt the vibration of the surrounding tissues, particularly those that contain collagen (note: you will not feel any vibration or tingling). Ultrasound improves the skin’s elasticity and firmness.

Red LED Light: Red light wavelengths improve the skin’s barrier function and enhance the skin’s ability to generate new collagen, helping to reduce wrinkles, rosacea, and broken veins. By targeting water layers on elastin, facial wrinkle levels can be significantly reduced.

Blue LED Light: Blue light wavelengths penetrate the skin and produce singlet oxygen, which destroys acne-causing bacteria.

    Your Take...

    • 5 stars 4 out of 5

I'm looking for an alternative to the Treatment Gel, as I am on a budget and already spend far too much $$$$ on TIA! Can you PLEASE recommend a good alternative? I know you state anything water based with water as the 1st ingredient but that's VERY difficult to find - trust me, I've done countless searches on line.

I was looking into organic 100% Aloe Gel but wasn't sure of the water content - would it conduct appropriately??

Of course I will buy the Treatment Gel when I finances allow but right now I've had to stop using the device due to lack of conductive gel. Please help!

      Thanks so much!

    • Hi Sarah
The instruction manual gives a detailed regimen for the red LED mode (as well as for the other modes). A recommended session is up to 19 minutes, or you can do about four minutes per section - a section would be one side, cheek-to-jaw; or the forehead say. You can work on the whole face and neck or just focus on areas you are most concerned about if you are time-pressed.

    • Hi, I was just wondering how long I should use the LED for? Thank you.

    • Hi Stacey, it will help fade them over time. How long will depend on the depth of tone, whether they are seasonal (just appear when you have been in the sun) or year round. All hyperpgimentation requires patience before results are seen and it may take several months of regular use.

    • I have freckles - does the LED work on lightening those?

    • Does the Renew not offer the green light or hyper pigmentation anymore? If so, why?

    • Thanks Marta for your helpful reply

    • Hi Annie
That is correct. For example I will treat my right upper lip, below the lip and right marionette line area as one section for four minutes and then move to the left side for four minutes. Then the next evening I will do my right crow's feet and right forehead as one section for four minutes and then treat the left side. Although the protocol for the clinical trials rigidly followed the instructions, the device was designed to fit in to the user's needs and time available. In other words, find what works for you. All you need to remember is that the results are cumulative and will slowly build over time. The basic requirements are discipline (regular use, fitting what you can into your schedule) and patience.

    • Thanks Marta for your reply.

So if I was treating say the marionette lines I wouldn't need to spend four minutes on it as I had thought? As the marionette lines would be considered part of a section, such as the left side of my face?

And with the clinical trial photos the area shown such as marionette lines will not have been worked on for four minutes and 15 minutes used for the rest of the face? Apologies if I have got this wrong. I am just still really confused with the timings. Many thanks

    • Hi Annie, a section would be one side of your face, or your forehead. I should point out that there is no speculation as to what goes on in a clinical trial. The participants must strictly adhere to the instructions for use (that were FDA cleared, by the way, after having undergone a separate consumer useability and comprehension test. The clinical trials were carried out by a certified and independent lab, and independently audited.

    • I have used this for about 4 weeks so far, averaging 5 times a week. I am only using the ultrasound setting. I have noticed some very subtle firming, but so far just very subtle, hoping to see more effect after a full 12 weeks

I did contact the helpful customer support about her how long to use it for, as I am still not clear. The booklet says to use it about four minutes on each area and I am still not clear what constitutes an area. There has been the general advice to use it for 19 minutes for ultrasound. Customer Service advised if i want to target an area well I should give it four minutes minimum and then devote 15 minutes to the rest of my face.

I am wondering if the before and after pictures on this site whether the person has devoted four minutes to the small area shown. If this is the case then I think if a person wants to see results they might have to be prepared to spend longer than the 19 minutes mentioned on here. As four minutes on each area is longer than 19 minutes. So my advice is this may well have some good subtle effects over time but be prepared you may need to schedule significant time to achieve it.

    • Hi Sylvie, yes that is correct. Our community of reviewers test other brands and give an objective evaluation. For example, we have a red LED light in our Lux Renew and also sell - because it is a good product - the Quasar MD. We are also currently testing the Jennu ultrasound device and will have a review of that shortly.

    • Hello Martha,
I would like to understand. You evaluate other people machine and product and you also sell some yourself...

    • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I've been using the Truth Vitality Lux Renew for almost 6 weeks now and the results I've gotten so far are amazing and I'm thrilled to see what this little machine can accomplish over time. The ultrasound seems to affect the skin in a way I have seen no serum or cream do. It seems to slowly rebuild my old face. I see an over all firming and filling out of lines and under eye hollows. I've been using the ultrasound setting for 19 min every morning and the red light for about 10 minutes. I do it in the morning, while having breakfast and reading the news on my computer, so it really hasn't increased the time I need to get ready in the morning.

    • Hi Tara, Ultherapy works thermally - it gets hot. Our device is not thermal. You read more on ultrasound, how it works and those differences here: https://www.truthinaging.com/review/ultrasonic-how-it-works
You must keep the device moving in ultrasonic mode at all times. You can move it very slowly, but it must not be held in one place.

    • 5 stars 5 out of 5

Review and question~i love both devices I've purchased from you, the Lux Renew and Microcurrent device. There seem to always be newer and 'better' products coming out on the market and lately I'm hearing a lot about Ultherapy. I realize this is a professional procedure and it uses ultrasound. What is the difference between using an at home device with Ultrasound vs getting Ultherapy? What constitutes the spa treatments efficiency compared to an at home device? Is it the depth at which the ultrasound reaches or something else? Also if I hold your ultrasound device for several seconds on one area, is that detrimental or helpful or does it matter at all? I want to get the most out of all my devices from TIA.
      Thanks Marta!

    • Hi Marina, the device is FDA cleared for mild to moderate acne (see the packaging and instructions for definitions). Blue LED light is proven to help acne. There is more information here: https://www.truthinaging.com/review/blue-light-may-defeat-your-acne
Do ensure that your daughter wears the goggles when using the device near her eyes. I would be hopeful that with regular and disciplined use, she'll get some relief.

    • I hope to make this a review very very soon, until then I have a question. My 16 yr old niece has terrible acne that breaks my heart but she has such a positive attitude and confidence and only covers it up for photos and special occasions. Your video speaks of occasion break outs and blemishes that we all get, she has a face full of them top to bottom and her neck and chest, dermatologists have tried everything including hormone adjustments. How much affect can we expect the blue LED have for her? And since she is so young is there anything else I should be aware of to caution? Thank you.

    • Hi Jennifer, its the same technology. In a spa you are more likely to get a large panel that covers the entire face and some fancy settings - eg my esthetician's machine can be programmed to alternate red and infra-red. But otherwise its the same thing.

    • How would the Truth Vitality Lux Renew compare to LED Photomodulation at a spa? Are they a similar kind of treatment?

      Thank you,

      Jennifer

    • Hi Valentina, the gel needs to be used in a thick layer - like a face mask. If you want to use your serum, then you can as long as it is water based - with water being the first ingredient.

    • 5 stars 4 out of 5

I use the Lux Renew daily each evening , but am wondering if I can just use this device with just my serums instead of the topical gel that seems to dry up too fast & then it's not as slippery as just using my serums. When a product is water based, does that mean that it has water listed in the ingredients? That's where I'm confused.

    • Hi Lucy, you can use any water based product providing that it has enough "slip" for the device to glide comfortably over your skin.

    • Hi Martha,

Can I use the ultrasound with pure Aloe Vera?

    • Hi Sandra

You can also use the ultrasound, which will also help smooth out wrinkles and firm the skin. With ultrasound you must use a water-based gel to ensure the conductivity of the ultrasonic. You do not need to use anything with the LED.

    • Hi Brian, using device with Botox treatments will be fine. If in any doubt, double check with the physician that performed the procedure for you.

    • I am thinking of purchasing the Lux renew, but was wondering if it was safe to use on areas with botox? Will it effect the longevity of Botox?

    • Hi, I have the old version, the Truth Renew plus, what are all the differences from this old one and this new one? I only use the red light on the pulsing...is there something better for the wrinkles on my face and neck? Also what kind of lotion should I use only skin and does it really matter if you use lotion?

      Thanks so much!

    • Hi Ray, of course you will never get the same results with an at-home device as you will with a professional treatment. But regular and disciplined use of the device will bring results as you have seen with the before/afters. If you have had an Ulthera, then Truth Vitality Lux Renew should certainly augment its results, improving upon them or at least providing maintenance.

    • This is not a review, but a question prior to purchase. Exactly 4 months ago I had af full face Ultherapy treatment which was very expensive (I will be making monthly payments for quite a long while to pay for it). I am waiting to see how much tightening has occurred after 6 months. At 4 months post treatment, I still see a problem with Marionette lines and bags under my eyes, although I must say the skin under my neck and chin seems to have gotten tighter. My question is: will your new device be a good device to help my Ultherapy results last longer while improving the areas where I still see a problem; that is since I definitely cannot afford another Ultherapy treatment 2 months from now, I am really hoping this device is the next best alternative. I am 60 years old, by the way.

    • Our device is safe to use on facial fillers as it does not heat up. Ulthera is ultrasound but it works by creating heat. Our ultrasound technology does not get at all hot and so cannot dissolve fillers. It works by creating a tiny vibration (that you cannot feel) to the water around the skin cells. You can read more on how ultrasound works here: https://www.truthinaging.com/review/ultrasonic-how-it-works

You should always double check with the physician who performed the procedure.

    • Hi Marta
Can you tell me if it's safe to use the device on areas with fillers (Juvederm)? I know that Ultherapy, which also uses ultrasound, is thought by some to dissolve them somewhat. I have ordered one, but am worried now in case I can't use it!
      Many thanks!

    • Hi MaryAnn, the technology doesn't really work by causing inflammation. There is a reverberation of water around the cells that prompts a signal to produce collagen. There is more on how ultrasound works and LED works in these two articles:
      https://www.truthinaging.com/review/ultrasonic-how-it-works
      https://www.truthinaging.com/review/how-led-light-therapy-works-as-an-antiager-for-skin
Having said that, I cannot say whether you should or should not use this device with your medication and would strongly advise you to consult your prescribing physician.

    • This is a question prior to buying: I would like to know if the red light and ultrasound are effective if I am taking 5 mg of Prednisone a day on a long term basis. (I am a transplant patient. ) It is of course an anti-inflamatory and I believe the collagen production is based on causing a bit of inflammation to create more collagen. I don't know if the Prednisone would cancel out the benefits. Can you find out the answer to my question?

    • Hi Sylvie, thanks for the clarification. We have reviewed the Dermawand and you can read about it here: https://www.truthinaging.com/review/dermawand or find the article by typing Dermawand (one word) into our search tool at the top right of every page. It uses a different technology (radio frequency) that I didn't find effective during my test.

    • So sorry, I mispelled the name. It is Derma Wand. I am new with these machinses. Do not have a fortune to spend but at 60 I feel the need to do more than just creams and serum.

      http://www.dermawand.com/f2_ca_hp_1/

Thank you so much for your reply!

    • Hi Sylvie, I am not familiar with a Magic Wand device. Can you post a link. I know about the LiftFusion Magic Wand and it is just a serum dispenser.

    • Hello Martha,
I am wondering how good is the Magic Wand? Compared to the Truth Vitality Lux Renew with LED and Ultrasound? The prices are quiet different!

      Thank you for your reply.

    • Hi Clara, you can use both LED and ultrasound on the periorbital lines around the eyes, eg crow's feet and under the eyes. It is not advisable to use the device on the eyelids, although you can use the ultrasound on the brow bone just above the lids to help get a lift.

    • How do I improve the periorbital lines (upper and lower eyes) using the original Lux Renew? Would the red light be okay to use over the eyes? Please advise. Thanks.

    • Hi Lora, first let me say that I have not tried the JeNu. It is positioned by the manufacturer as an "infuser" - this means that its role is to help products (ie the serum they sell along with it) to penetrate the skin. It does not claim to have waves that penetrate the skin to the cellular level where collagen is produced. There are no claims that it is firming. The JeNu does not give information on how many Mhz it is. Nor does it appear to be FDA cleared. Regarding the microcurrent versus ultrasound question, that's a toughie because both work to firm and they work in different ways and so are complimentary (I use both). But if you could only choose one, make it ultrasound.

    • greetings Marta, i've a question before i order. i have read , i thought! the difference between micro current & ultrasound. my concern is sagging, firming, lifting . i planned ordering device on first march until i read a review on FabOverFifty regarding the JeNu ultrasound device used & reviewed by founder of site Geri. i know it is not at all as the TIA site that i depend on for full truth. i value your opinion highly regarding this field. could you read a bit about the JeNu & tell me which would be better at lifting skin ? i do not fully understand which is more powerful, etc. also, if i read correctly regarding your micro current device that is the one best for sagging jawline etc over ultrasound? i simply am limited on budget & need to do my wisest in which to purchase! thank you so much

    • Hello! I was wondering if I understand correctly that it is an option to use the goggles with the red LED as vs must use with the blue. I used the goggles and they left a deep red area under both my eyes. I am hoping that it goes away as I have enough problems with bags, etc! I am hesitant to put them on again.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

    • Marta,

Just used this product for the first time. I used both the LED (red) for wrinkles and ultrasonic for sagging jaw line.

I'd like to know if I am using it correctly.

When I use the ultrasonic, I don't feel anything. I've had Thermage before and it was painful but worked. So I expected some pain. But I felt absolutely nothing. Does that mean it IS or IS NOT working.

I am also unsure about the gel I am using and whether it is conductive. It should be as it is water-based aloe vera and mask-thick.

As for the LED (red), even with the goggles on, I could see the light. Is that okay?

One last question: The instructions guide says the LED (red) can be used in between the brows, where I have deep lines. However, I can't figure out how that is possible if one is wearing the goggles at the time.

    • Hi Kitty, the FDA did not find "an issue" with the prototype device. There were two hurdles that we had to cross. The first was that the engineering requirements are very stringent and we had to create a device that met them. The second is that there needs to be clinical evidence of the efficacy of all functionality. This did not exist for the green light or ionic modes and until such evidence is available those functionalities are not FDA cleared and so we could not include them in the new device. If your device is working well then I am pleased that you had the chance to get a prototype for a good price.

    • I have the ultra renew plus and gave the first one (original) to my daughter. My concern is that the ultra is not good or something dangerous. Like others in this pistol should I throw it away? It's disheartening to purchase a machine with rave reviews and find out it's no longer for sale because the FDA found an issue with it. I see the concerns re such questions have yet to be answered.

    • 5 stars 5 out of 5

Bought this about a year ago and have it beside my bed. Wash my face, moisturize and use this for two 19 minute cessions. Love the results. Glad I made the purchase.
      Gabrielle

    • Marta, thanks so much for answering my question. I feel much better about my Ultra machine now. Thanks for the prompt reply!

    • Hi Kimberly, the new device, the Truth Vitality Lux Renew, has been cleared by the FDA. This process required tweaks to the engineering and functionality changes that the Ultra Renew Plus didn't have. The Ultra Renew Plus was a prototype for the new device and I am pleased that you were able to get one and have been enjoying it. There's no reason to change if your device is working well. The reason why we discontinued it is because such devices require FDA approval and that has been conferred to the new device.

    • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I like my Ultra Renew PLUS machine, but I am on a budget, and can't purchase a "new and improved" machine every time one comes out. So what I want to know, should I throw my Ultra Renew Plus out in the trash? I see you don't carry it. Does that mean it didn't work and there is no reason to continue its use? This depresses me when I spend that kind of money, and then several months later, see that it isn't even carried anymore. It sure doesn't inspire my confidence in buying one of these ever again.

Please answer any of my concerns that you can, thanking you in advance. And thanks TIA, I learned most of what I know about skin care from you! Merry Xmas

    • Hi Sandra, you are right to be concerned as there is some research regarding blue light and the eyes (red light is fine). That is why we do caution that users wear goggles. Our goggles were FDA approved.

    • The more I read, the more I'm concerned about the blue light on these things damaging my eyes, especially with how often I use my Truth Renew Plus. Coupled with the fact that the goggles included with my device seem to not block very much light at all, I'm doubly concerned. Perhaps this is exactly why the FDA required the blue light to be closer to violet.

Sorry, I wanted to leave a comment under 'comments' but the form isn't available to do so.

    • I purchased the previous device, the "Truth Renew PLUS Ultrasonic LED" which is almost the same but lacks the FDA seal (not important to me). I've only been using it a few weeks but already I can see a difference! The other part of doing business with TIA is that the customer service department is OUTSTANDING! I had some questions about my device & Preksha answered them all--detailed, fast, courteous and knowledgeable.
With such a big investment, it was great knowing that the company stands solidly behind their products.
      Thank you!
      Ann H.

    • How is this different from the Truth Renew Plus?

    • I had done research on this product and I want to try it at home rather than going to medical spas and pay hundreds for one single treatment.

      Hi Marta:

I am shopping for a good at home LED device I have narrowed it down between the Truth Vitality Lux Renew and the Baby Quasar. Can you tell me what the differences are? I am most concerned with my marrionetee lines that are getting deeper by the day! I need something fairly powerful to impact. Of course, I am not looking to have them be compeltely gone, but want them to deminish. I am seriously thinking of injections down the road and want a good device to help prolong the effects

Anyway, just looking for an expert to give me some advice! Would appreciate if you could let me know your thoughts! I am not concerned about spending the money on the Baby Quasar. But if your device is a powerful then i would certainly get it!

      Thanks

      Lisa

      Hi Marta --

I recently bought your Truth Renew Plus. I am curious why you discontinued it so soon, and how it differs from the Truth Vitality Lux.

      Thank you!

      Hi Marta,
I have the Quaser MD Plus, which I love, so I'm not looking for more LED. What I am interested in is the Ultrasound, does it help with loose/sagging skin? I have been researching and found the HS-3026 2 MHz Ultrasound Facial Massager that is suppose to improve the facial skin. Do you know anything about this product?

      Thank you! :)

Hi Gillian, we are currently conducting clinical trials and will have before/afters by the end of the year.

Introducing Truth Vitality Lux Renew by Truth In Aging (VIDEO)

Watch this video to learn more about Truth In Aging's Lux Renew, which combines ultrasound and LED technologies to add vitality and plumping to the skin.

The History of the Truth Vitality Brand (VIDEO)

In this video, I share the story of how I got into making my own beauty products — and how it all started with the TIA community.

When using the Lux Renew, how often should I plan to use the device?
For optimal results, we recommend using the Lux Renew a minimum of 3 to 5 times a week for 15-19 minutes each time.

Does it matter if I use the LED or Ultrasound first? Can I use them together in the same session?
The sequence in which you use ultrasound and LED should not affect your treatments. You cannot use both treatments simultaneously, however, you can use them in sequence.

Is it required to wear the goggles when using the LED function?
We caution that users always wear the goggles when using LED, particularly when using blue LED.

I am currently living outside of the United States. Am I able to use the device internationally?
The Truth Vitality Lux Renew comes equipped with a US power adapter (AC 100-240V). This voltage is compatible worldwide, but international customers will need to purchase a local adapter from their local hardware store to use outside of the US.

Does the Lux Renew come equipped with a warranty?
Yes! We provide a 1-Year repair guarantee. In the event that your Truth Vitality Lux Renew develops a fault within 12 months of purchase, please contact us.

Can the Lux Renew be used on the neck area?
The Lux Renew should not be used on the neck on individuals with overactive thyroids. Otherwise, it is fine to use the device on the neck area.

Can the Lux Renew be used if you’re pregnant?
No, the device should not be used if you are pregnant.

What are the technical specifications of this device?
    Ultrasonic frequency: 3 MHz +/- 5%
    Red LED: 650nm
    Blue LED: 415nm
    Adapter input power: AC 100-120V
    Adapter output power: 15V, 400mA

How is this different from the Ultra Renew Plus/Truth Renew Plus?
The Lux Renew has been cleared by the FDA. This process required tweaks to the engineering and functionality changes that the Ultra Renew Plus/Truth Renew Plus didn't have. The Ultra Renew Plus/Truth Renew Plus was a prototype for the new device but there's no reason to change if your device is working well. The reason why we discontinued it is because such devices require FDA approval and that has been conferred to the new device.

Can the Lux Renew be used without a gel or serum?
When using the device in ultrasonic mode, a water-based gel or serum must be used. The gel or serum should provide enough "slip" for the device to glide comfortably over your skin.

When using the device in LED mode, it is advised to use antioxidants alongside LED because although LED is antioxidant over time, the short-term effects are pro-oxidant. You can read more on LED and anti-oxidants here

We recommend the Truth Vitality Treatment Gel or the Ultra Renew Gel Serum, which are suitable for use with ultrasound, LED, galvanic, and microcurrent treatments.

Is the Lux Renew safe to use on areas treated with fillers (e.g. Juvederm)?
Our device is safe to use on facial fillers as it does not heat up. Unlike Ultherapy (which produces heat and should not be used on areas treated by fillers), our ultrasound technology does not get at all hot and so cannot dissolve fillers. It works by creating a tiny vibration (that you cannot feel) to the water around the skin cells.
More information on how ultrasound works can be found here. We recommend always consulting the physician who performed the procedure prior to beginning Lux Renew treatments.

Can the Lux Renew help Ultherapy results last longer while improving areas still needing help?
Of course you will never get the same results with an at-home device as you will with a professional treatment. However, regular and disciplined use of the Lux Renew can bring results. If you have had Ulthera treatments, Lux Renew should augment its results, improving upon them or, at the very least, providing maintenance.

Is the Lux Renew safe to use on areas with Botox?
It is fine to use the Lux Renew with Botox treatments. If in any doubt, we recommend consulting the physician who performed the procedure prior to beginning Lux Renew treatments.

Can I use LED if I am using retinol as part of my anti-aging regimen?
If you are using a prescription retinol, we recommend consulting your prescribing physician. If you are using OTC retinol, please bear in mind that you may be increasing your skin's photosensitivity and we encourage you to conduct a patch test before using the red LED light. Consider spacing out the red LED and retinol treatments.

    Quick User Guide:
  • Use on a clean, dry face without makeup.
  • Connect the handpiece to the power adaptor and plug into a power outlet.
  • The Ultrasonic mode and the LED modes cannot be used at the same time, however, they may be used consecutively.
  • A water-based, topical gel or serum must be used with Ultrasonic mode to ensure  conductivity. It is recommended that the water-based gel be applied to the thickness of a face mask
  • In Ultrasonic mode, the bars on the LCD display indicate the level of intensity. Start with the first level and increase if it is comfortable for you.
  • There are two LED lights: red = anti-wrinkle and acne treatment; blue = acne treatment. When using the LED mode, choose the setting accordingly. Note: LED does not require a water-based serum or gel.
  • The device will automatically switch off after 19 minutes. If you wish to continue your session after the 19 minutes, you must switch it back on.
  • For a shorter session, you can adjust the time. With your Lux Renew switched on, press MODE repeatedly to select Time in the display (it will flash). When Time is flashing, press SHIFT repeatedly to adjust to the time of your choice .
  • After use, a soft cloth should be used to wipe the device clean. Do not use water, chemical cleanser or dish detergent.
  • Precautions: Do NOT use Truth Vitality Lux Renew if you are pregnant or if you have an overactive thyroid.
Ultrasonic frequency: 3 MHz +/- 5% Red LED: 650nm Blue LED: 415nm Adapter input power: AC 100-120V Adapter output power: 15V, 400mA The Truth Vitality Lux Renew comes equipped with a US power adapter (AC 100-240V). This voltage is compatible worldwide, but international customers will need to purchase a local adapter from their local hardware store to use outside of the US.
