Age: Mid-50s
Location: Washington State
Skin Type: Combination, Sensitive
Skin Concerns: Sun damage, broken capillaries, sagging eyelids
My first exposure to skincare was while in high school, when my mom got me started on the Erno Laszlo regimen, to help me deal with acne. Although I grew out of the acne phase – and don’t believe Erno Laszlo helped at all – I do have that experience to thank for starting my habit of washing, toning and moisturizing my face (35 years now!).
Despite having 20 years of work experience in the sciences industry, I paid absolutely no attention to the ingredients in my various skincare products until happening across the TIA website. Until then, I, like countless other folks, chose my products based on the best ads. Yikes! What a wake up call!
Unfortunately, the sins of the past abuse to my skin started being displayed when I hit 50 (three years ago), via broken capillaries and overly sensitive skin. Now, in addition to trying to slow down the inevitable aging of my skin, I continue to try to fix the damage from the past. Interestingly, my identical twin sister never had the acne problems, so she doesn’t have the damage issues I do. We are perfect test subjects, however, when determining whether the change in skincare products (on my part... she’s not there yet) actually make a difference in how our skin continues to “mature.” Stay tuned!
