Gloria

Age: Mid-50s

Location: Kenosha, WI

Skin Type: Dry, Sensitive

Skin Concerns: Sagging and wrinkles

I was in my 40s before I really started to notice how many wrinkles I was getting.  I had quite a few, actually.  I started going to a esthetician for facials and  was recommended different products, but I just didn't keep up with it.  My skin was getting better but not near what I was hoping for.

I live in Kenosha, WI, which is right between Chicago and Milwaukee.  Winters have been long, and I walk outside quite a bit.  I have two rescued collies that need exercise and you get used to the cold after a bit.  Your skin, however, takes a beating.  I always thought I was doing an okay job of keeping  the aging process  at a slow speed, but one day I looked in the mirror and saw what I didn't like. My esthetician told me about this product that had human growth factors, and of course the spa I went to carried it.  I started using it and saw a nice improvement in my skin, but after a couple months I was just looking online for more information about it. That's when I happened upon the Truth in Aging website.  I was totally hooked on this site.  The information available to anyone who wanted to know about a product or needed help with a problem was plentiful.  I found  better products than I was using at comparable prices or better.  What intrigued me the most was how the people who reviewed or commented really cared about what you had to say and Marta or one of the others in the TIA community members would give honest and helpful input and answers to your questions.

I am president and co-owner of a small business, and I don't have a lot of extra time.  I was a smoker until I was 40, so that really did terrible damage to my lip line area and just overall moisture retention in my skin.  I am also  a redhead and fair, and of course I tried tanning when I was younger and only damaged my skin more.  Sunscreens back in those days were quite different than they are now.  I never go out without at least 30 spf on my face now.  If I could tell any young woman what they should do to prevent wrinkles it would be drink plenty of water, no tanning and use plenty of sunscreen.

I have had the privilege of being asked to try many new products for the TIA community.  It has been a wonderful experience.  I have come across many products that have been total rock stars and some not so much.  What a great opportunity to be able to try them out and tell everyone how it was.  I have taken the reviews many times as a good recommendation for a product to use or not use.  I never buy anything that has to do with my skin without consulting the TIA site. My esthetician has marveled at how well my skin has improved and doesn't even try to sell me the products the spa uses because she says that whatever I am using don't stop.
